Why I Quit - Advocaat

I really really like Dick but I hope he doesn't sour my views of him by criticising us in the media. Whether he's right or wrong it's not what the club need at the moment.
That said it's the Mirror, it was the Mirror that started the story about the 6 top class players, we really have no idea what he was promised, it's no surprise the Mirror are now using third party quotes of someone close to Dick apparently.
I say apparently because I haven't and won't read it.

If he was younger, I'd have been well pissed at him walking away, but his age is a big factor. I'm just a bit younger than him, and recently retired from my main job, as it was taking it's toll on my health. I loved the job, and the people I worked with, but serious policy changes were starting to make huge aspects of it a major chore. He looked to me like a man who was close to getting ill from the stress of what he'd taken on. When you don't feel well, you can make poor decisions, and I think he reached breaking point.
Even Sam is no spring chicken any more, and that break in Spain was about a major recharge of his batteries. Let's hope he doesn't suffer the same way.

as dick said "the papers have got to write something "

they're under pressure to write something that sells (truth or not ) its the daily jackanory FFS

yesterdays news with some lies / shock factor, got the internet & bbc/sky news so its a waste to buy

3.5 mill sun sales in 2000, 3 mill @ 2011 . 1.9M @ 2015 , figures for all papers at this link

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_newspapers_in_the_United_Kingdom_by_circulation

We all know print circulation is in decline, but what will the print part of the industry look like in five years time?

Looking at the ABC's six-monthly averages over the last five years:

--Newspaper print readership has fallen an average of 3.08 percent every six months.

-- Daily newspaper circulation has fallen 2,6 million - equivalent to 22.5 percent of total circulation - over the last five years.

--Over the same period the decline in average Sunday paper circulation has been even more sharp, falling almost 28 percent - equivalent to more than 3.3 million copies.

--If you average out Sunday and Daily losses, that's a decline of more than 2.9 million, or slightly more than a qua

I wouldn't trust anything they say about us now.
Me neither, it's so obvious what they are doing.

Newcastle also don't lose £10-20m every year. The whole money question is a bit of a red herring. Our best summer signing is a loanee.
Not this shite again. How many seasons have we been losing 20m now? 9?
Even if we pulled down the stadium, and built a supermarket there..... "we're losing 20m a year!"

We are always going to be fucked if our manager can't get players he wants.

It's madness, LET THE MANAGER CHOOSE HIS PLAYERS
It would help immensely if the players they bought tried a little harder . Too many don't seem to give a shit and get away with going through the motions . The very reason I'm delighted with Allardyce .

There you go, confirmed Short does want to spend, hence why Congerton wants to be off as he is coming across badly.

All short had to do was trust Dick and he could not, putting us in the position we are in.

Seconded, Sam will soon ship the shirkers.

Pleased I didn't have Vodka on me cornflakes.

I think he is starting to come across as a bit of a dick. Pardon the pun. Not sure what world he is living in complaining that we can't compete with Man Utd, Man city and Tottenham.

Yeah, I like him but what's he on about?

Bizarre comparisons.

Then get the stadium sponsored, or the Academy, get another backer/s on board. There's ways round it, he doesn't need to use his own cash

Putting a stop on the poor decision making would help. Brown, Vergini, Alvarez.....signing known crocks, three right backs, one left back. Do our backroom boys and girls even speak to each other?

Why are people getting hung up with it being the Mirror and the Poundland quotes?

Much of the article is direct quotes from Advocaat. You can't argue with those.
