I think it's more of a case of him saying they are miles ahead of us (obviously) but spending money to keep improving whereas we didn't and that's it's all relative. Of course weren't hope to spend that sort of money but we were starting with a very poor side so had to do a bit more.
We spent the 8th highest net amount in the league he is talking rubbish. We are miles behind the top teams no idea what he expected.

It's true, but he's a little off kilter if he thought we were going to be pushing for the top six or the Champions League, which is all the clubs he's quoted ambitions.

If he was so upset over transfers why didn't he leave in August then?

Signs were there, he never really did anything to turn around leaving us with 3 points.
Might come across as a nice sort of bloke but twice a Dick in my opinion, either give your all 100% or go when your hearts not in it and it was pretty obvious when that was.

Fair enough like Dick. But haway man, we are not and never will be Chelsea, Spuds Man Utd etc. But you dug us out of the brown stuff last year and you will always be remembered well for it.

I think he is starting to come across as a bit of a dick. Pardon the pun. Not sure what world he is living in complaining that we can't compete with Man Utd, Man city and Tottenham.
We should be competing with those clubs if we had any ambition ffs.

Dick saved us as did PDC,Poyet,MON .They cant all be wrong.

You don't have to spend loads of money, you just need younger hungry players. Look at Bournemouth, Norwich, Palace. To an extent Swansea and Southampton (before selling Shaw and Lallana.) Also playing 3 up top with too much of a gap between midfield and not protecting the wing backs was a tactic which we suffered from this season so far.

bit deluded if he thinks we're going to start buying players for £23 million
also, how would he have heard of Poundland ffs! Can't see how that would appear on his cultural radar
I think you'll find that the journo from "The Mirror", probably made that bit up. ;)

Im confident a manager of his calibre would have turned it around but its not to be

.. same team as he had last year an

.. if Sam does well with the same tools would tell a story imo ..

Over the last week or so l have read all the comments from Dick. The poundland thing is a new one, and I notice it was said by a source close to Dick. Bullshit.
