Striker
A combination of a hard run of games, lots of injuries and knocks to key players and some awful refereeing decisions...
Pretty obvious really...
better manager would excel !!!

cos we are shite?

My marra reckons that the club's enthusiasm to sell its best striker without having a replacement to hand, may have demoralised the players. I can kinda see where he's coming from like but I expect the clappies will want a lynching for daring to suggest it on here.![]()
Because the club is far too complacent. Everyone who joins us, administrators, managers or players knows about our relegation record. We're happy to quite simply not go down - as are the fans BTW.
We lack any ambition. Talk a good game though.

Any from the below:
- We have/had a lot of key players injured
- Bardsley isn't a left back, nor is he a quality player but because he's scored a few goals and is playing better than he usually does he is now considered player of the season which tends to mean he'll be in our side for at least another year
- Our centre half pairing for the second season running have been all over the place with a different player partnering Bramble practically every other two or three games it would seem
- We lost Bent who offers something different making it very difficult for opposition defenders to push up the field any further (they now appear to have a lot more space/time). When Gyan's up front by himself he wanders back into midfield to look for the ball
- Henderson has been way below par. He never shoots and his end product hasn't been good enough (same can be said for the whole of our midfield)
- Gordon is injured all the time which means there is no consistency with our backline/goalkeeper and it can take time for goalkeepers to settle in after being out injured
- Our wingers/full-backs are offering very little in terms of getting forward and supporting Gyan. They're more intent on playing tippy tappy football seemingly forgetting that the aim of the game is to score
- Bruce does not appear to be able to change his tactics around when we go a goal down. Nor is he able to motivate our players into getting back into the game
- The atmosphere at home games has been shocking. Probably mainly due to the above but that's an excuse, we should be able to create our own entertainment and get behind the lads. Liverpool was a sorry show all around.
Fans lack ambition maybe due to years of being a yo -yo club, therefore happy to be safe in the league, but for me in Quinn his ambition is huge for our club.
football has overtaken SAFC, the likes of Murray saw to that. With the finances as our disposal compared to the teams that make up the top 6 what should our ambition be
Not very far unfortunately.[/B]
I think Quinn knows as well as anybody how far we can go given our financial muscle compared to other teams tbh
Quinns ambition can be as huge as it likes it wont happen for SAFC. The club he took over was knackered; it still is.Fans lack ambition maybe due to years of being a yo -yo club, therefore happy to be safe in the league, but for me in Quinn his ambition is huge for our club.

whilst a load of people on here are convinced that the good times are just around the corner, that wont happen.
We have no real money to throw about and a £65m turnover will see us no place in particular. with the UEFA Financial Fair Play coming into operation there will have to be some creative accounting or deep pockets too see us make much of an impact.
Even if we get a huge international sponsortship deal of say £10m per annum it takes our turnover to £75m - one decent player.
Its not going to happen for SAFC or anyone else hoping to muscle in on the top 5 or 6.
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble. Forget it.

It is not knackered, and Quinn is pulling out all the stops to promote the club outside the Uk.Would you agree Quinn has raised the clubs profile so far.....if not you are even more of a idiot than everyone on here already seems to think you are.
your post is correct and its a realistic attitude to have. the top 5 or 6 are way ahead of us and the gap is too big to bridge.
We haven't been so shite the last 5 games.
