Why do you want to sack Tony and not Speakman?

I do blame the owners for selling our experienced players to reduce the wage bill (currently 4th lowest in league) and obviously not giving speakman the funds to buy replacements, we have not spent anywhere near what we got for Stewart. It's obvious they are running us on a shoestring, just look at the off-pitch stuff like the ticket office, shop, and crumbling stadium.

We've lost the bulk of our goals from last season in Stewart, Simms, and Diallo. A 25 year old Ukranian who's not played much considering his age was never going to set the world alight.

We are playing a midfielder as a CB because speakman wasn't allowed to buy any experienced CBs after the owners flogged our best one for peanuts, to again reduce the already small wage bill.

Mowbray has a lot of blame too though, same set up against every team and we've been found out. Just mark Clarke and that's our goals gone. He plays our wingers on the wrong side for their strong foot meaning they can't cross the ball, only cut inside where the defence is waiting for them. He can't react to whats happening on the pitch and often brings the wrong players on/off.

He's clearly out of ideas right now. I just wish we got Farioli is the close season which I think the owners planned to until our fans kicked off about it.

We need a young progressive tactically aware manager who can build a team and be here years.

It's not that I want to, it's that I accept it's harder to shift a sporting director than a manager.

Why speakman and not question the owner?. For relatively small outlay speakman has completely turned over the squad while brining the age down and we have actual assets. Now I'm far from his biggest fan but he's done more good than bad I'd argue, maybe he's working within the remit of the owner and the budget setout. He has failed with the striker situation but I'll hold judgement on that till the window shits in Jan. Amad papered over alot last season, we had a £35m young player which we have failed to remotely replace with our budget I'm not sure how you do without striking lucky with a big loan signing.

3 point off the playoffs, personally think it’s been a difficult 2nd season. Amad was sensational and got us in the playoffs last season. Speakman needs to deliver next window which of his buys have been good this season?
Get your tin hat on… 😳

Because it's not rocket science. Mowbray is a below average lower league manager. He's had 2 promotions in, what, 20 years. He does this with every team, does well initially and then falters and finally getting sacked or contract not renewed.

Also, isn't it his job to develop and improve players, motivate them, put a system into place to put them in the best possible position to succeed? That is his primary role surely. Can you honestly say he has done any of that?

Last year he got lucky with Amad and the link up between him, Roberts and Clarke which covered up a lot of his failings. The worst thing that happened was getting to the playoffs. If we hadn't he'd have gone in the summer with a thanks for steadying the ship.

Because it’s quite obvious to anyone lucky enough to not be blind that Mowbray has been found out and had no plan B.

Bingo. Speakman might actually have a formation what can bring a striker into the came instead of completely bypassing them. We don't even get a ball into a strikers feet to hold up man and bring others into the game 😂 absolute basics.

Absolutely. Recruitment last summer has sent us backwards. Yes Mowbray seems intent on Onien at centre back and yes he's probably making too many changes. But we've (mostly) signed players from accross Europe just just aren't acclimatised and some who haven't even played regular football and strikers with no record to speak of - some are or were teenagers when they arrived - what on earth do people expect?

Some of those players have little bits of talent, but none are really looking good enough to be regulars or adding quality at this level. The squad as its stands is bang average.

First half especially today Burstow got the ball nicked off him too cheaply. None of our forwards so far seen able to keep hold of the ball to be able to bring others in.

Maybe at times weve been guilty of overplaying but today there was several crosses in the box as well.

People of blinded to his obvious limitations by the nice guy that is Mowbray...

Maybe Things are just too cozy and the squad have no fear of him

Amazed we’re only 3 off the play offs, not sure what it says for the standard of the league

Please swap mowbray with rooney.

I think alot of our crosses into the box at times are shocking hit and hopes with heads down aswell. It's just one big shit show really.

Unless they somehow find a new way to play before the next match you've got to think Mowbray is on very very thin ice.

TM track record has him as always being the bridesmaid.
Is it exceptionalism that fans can’t see this? It’s so obvious from his career but maybe fans think “we’ll be different” or are simply ignorant of his career to date. I imagine all clubs do this and it’s not a Sunderland thing.
