It is the cycle of things on here. People express concern about our lack of or quality of signings and are mocked as bedwetters by another group saying all will be fine and we are comfortable midtable. We then struggle, look certain for relegation just like those who were concerned said, then we scrape survival at the last and everyone is happy.
Trying to be a wum again ^Lost the plot ^
Likewise there are a group of posters who claim we are doomed every passing day. Yes things seem to be slow, yes im as frustrated as anyone by the lack of signings but its been an awkward summer for one reason or another so I'll hold on till I see the starting lineup for our first game in September.Problem is a lot of posters on here see everything through red and white blinkers and are unable to see things even when it's staring them right in the face. There's a group of posters on here who jump on any negative post that's made and they simply cannot grasp that everything is not rosy in the house.
It's about time someone pointed that out. It's grand being able to discuss/debate/argue about it with fellow supporters, I don't agree when it gets abusive and personal mind. But what it all boils down to is what this lad posted. What the fuck is the point in worrying about it? Theres absolutely nothing any of us can do about it.
I think we are all very aware we need to make signings, but I can't control what happens, so I don't worry about it. What is difficult to understand in that statement? I will help if I can and use shorter words
What the fuck is the point in worrying about it? Theres absolutely nothing any of us can do about it.
You die if you worry. You die if you don't . So why worry at all. So used to say an old dear in our local pub. A tab in one hand a glass of gin in the other. Seeing she lived until she was 97 I reckon it was a good policy to follow.
Precisely. A good few years ago I spent a lot of time getting in a state about things I was powerless to have any effect on. Long story short, it won't change anything and can often make things worse.I think we are all very aware we need to make signings, but I can't control what happens, so I don't worry about it. Of course it's not ideal and a concern, however it will improve in the next two weeks and continue until end of window. Three in shortly!Sick burn.
But given that is two weeks to the start of the season and we have a weaker squad than the last season, the blasé cavalier attitude on display from some posters is baffling.
Season after session recently we've made the same mistakes. Starting preseason without getting players in, forming a team and system ready for the first league game.
Panic is perhaps an overstatement (though it was your word not mine, and mercifully for my limited intellect and vocabulary you lowered yourself to using a short word), but posters are, once again, right to be concerned.
Last season I was concerned with our dreadful preseason and was told many, many times not to worry, preseason means nothing, Coates is good enough, Vergini is good enough...
I'd refer you to Einstein's definition of madness.
Yep, if it's something to do with me and I'm pissed off I'm like a bloody terrier, I won't let go.Precisely. A good few years ago I spent a lot of time getting in a state about things I was powerless to have any effect on. Long story short, it won't change anything and can often make things worse.
..it makes none, but now you have gone
and your prejudice won't keep you warm tonight
thats something that's out of my hands so I don't worry about being worried about it.Yep, if it's something to do with me and I'm pissed off I'm like a bloody terrier, I won't let go.
If it's something I have no control over I haven't got the energy to waste worrying about it. Well except when it's us or the Mags to be relegated![]()
At the end of the day this is a fans forum where we can discuss current issues affecting Sunlund, my only concern is the club seem to have a pattern now which is to try and leave signings until the last minute which I believe is really gambling with the future of the club all over again. Plus any player coming in now will need weeks to adjust to his new surroundings and get upto match fitness...
U ok hun? (((())))Squad and lack of geniune quality signings with 2 weeks to go before the season starts and use the term bed wetters etc etc
Do they not think that those posters have a very valid point of view.
I am not a bed wetter by any stretch of the imagination but I am a little worried that we only managed to stay up by the skin of our teeth again last year and yet we have a squad as it stands weaker than the one that finished the season
I am over the moon with David moyes as manager but he needs backed to the hilt in the next 4 weeks if we are not to be involved in another relegation battle
