why do some people on here laugh off or shoot down the posters who are worried about our paper thin

For me I think it's because I remember the days when signings were announced in the stop press of the Echo, when every little thing wasn't analysed over and over again.
And when pants weren't pissed when our manager buggered off leaving a bit of a vacuume. Other than that carry on

Squad and lack of geniune quality signings with 2 weeks to go before the season starts and use the term bed wetters etc etc

Do they not think that those posters have a very valid point of view.

I am not a bed wetter by any stretch of the imagination but I am a little worried that we only managed to stay up by the skin of our teeth again last year and yet we have a squad as it stands weaker than the one that finished the season

I am over the moon with David moyes as manager but he needs backed to the hilt in the next 4 weeks if we are not to be involved in another relegation battle
Well, it's like this, it's because ... this is SMB. If an argument needs two opposing points of view then SMB generally can be relied on to provide twenty two. FWIW I think we will be fine, but then it is still July, just, and I'm always optimistic in July

We've changed managers, have a small budget, have failed to make any new signings, our better players haven't resigned yet and we still have Rodwell. Marvelous.

It's the fact that when we do actually sign anyone, if we do, then we'll hear how they need time to gel. We need to have a decent start, some momentum for once. Just look at the SOL at the end of last season, that's what we want!
I fear for us as we stand ,lame as fuck

Not a single person on here or otherwise, that supports SAFC doesn't think we don't need to sign players. It's blatantly obvious we do. What there is though, is those who get all hysterical and blood thirsty for us to sign anyone, couldn't care who or what circumstances, until they fall flat on their face of course and we waste more money. Then there is some who look and think, we've had shit timing with allardyce and England, which has to have put transfer on hold till it's all sorted and we've had a manager in the place for a week, so this could take a bit longer than we all hoped. Transfer window time, brings out the very worst in Sunderland supporters it seems. We are at least 2 weeks behind, through no fault that of the club. I'll hang fire with my misery.

Well for a start people have been whinging for weeks, I think it's got to the point we need players now though, that's doesn't mean if felt the need to whinge on like a fanny for the last 2 months.

We still have that momentum. The team spirit is evident. Add a few new signings to that and we'll be laughing. You're assuming these new signings will start badly and people will defend them and say they time to gel? Or at least you're pre emptying it. Why? You've lost your patience and are being negative. Keep your cool, we'll get what we need. Moyes is no fool.

I'm doing no more assuming than you thinking we'll sign players mate. Swings and roundabouts.
