The National Service (Armed Forces) Act imposed conscription on all males aged between 18 and 41 who had to register for service. Those medically unfit were exempted, as were others in key industries and jobs such as baking, farming, medicine, and engineering.

the British Army were murdering innocent civilians so he surrendered, Thomas McDonagh whistled as they took him out to be shot and James Connolly was shot tied up on a chair as he had to be stretchered out and he forgave the Soldiers about to shoot him

as a result of the atrocities of the British Army the previously little supported Sinn Fein swept to victory in the next Election
