Why Can't 80% Of Season Ticket Holders Be A***d To Go Today?

I am going but not being able to sit in my normal seat is annoying and since they dropped to only opening the East Stand the organisation for cup games has been terrible with too few turnstiles, bars and toilets open meaning queues for everything. Along with the clubs lack of publicity and dreadful ticketing system (no cash/card turnstiles-ticket office closed and opaque website) would put a few off. They need to bring back the home cup payment scheme.

I’ve gave more than enough money to the club so far this season and will continue to do so but not today, I have other things to do. I don’t need some super fans hanging that over me.

Having a season card is a huge commitment, I usually go to cup games I'm going midweek but today the family takes priority, there's absolutely loads of reasons why folk can't go and need a weekend off, personally think they should bring cash or at least the ability to just go through a turnstile with your card.

Its like a self fulfilling prophecy as for me the most off putting thing about these games is the sparse crowd, if your looking forward to it or buzzing seeing a sparse crowd just sucks the life out of it.
If we switched it to say Hartlepool's ground it would be infinitely more attractive to me.

If the club knocked the season card costs up by £20-30 factoring in these rounds, we'd probably get drawn away but I think people would pay it. It is a sort of 'extra' re finance and faff on otherwise.

There will be some people with specific reasons for not going, but cup games, especially since we've made it East Stand only, have always drawn shit crowds. It's nothing to do with recent results or cash turnstiles etc.

I'm going like, but couldn't care less who isn't, all this uber fan shit is boring.

I can’t be arsed to watch another dire Lee Johnson masterclass if that’s ok with the OP.

plus I’m ticking the dutiful husband box as I’ve been to two aways in the last seven days then away midweek to Moldova.
I’m having to go the the empire with the missus to see Riverdance tonight.

diddly dee an arl that shyte. Can’t wait 🤔
Been cancelled but I’m still not going to the match.
Girfuy OP

Ought to be included with season tickets. I don't blame anyone not going who's gone to Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday and found themselves potless and pissed off.

Similarly, we're still in a period of economic downturn, and redundancy after furlough, with Christmas hoving into view. People have to cut corners where they can. You can bet your bottom dollar, too, that plenty of season ticket holders can't even afford to go to league games at the moment either.

Let everyone in free, give Mansfield a decent pay-off, based on projected revenue at FA Cup prices, and there would've been a lot of praise and goodwill going the club's way. They can't do that, of course, but all it takes is a bit of innovation from the FA ..... oh, forget it, it'll never catch on.

That's fair enough aye. However, I'll get pelters but I'm not really interested in cups that we have no chance of winning.

When we are a Pl side it was different.

Honestly think that's the problem across the board. Until Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool are out, even PL teams don't think they can win it.
Pre Millennium even if naively fans of any decent sized club will have fancied a good ride if not a final, that's why it was so bitter to get beat. Now it feels like kind of a relief not to mess about with a bunch of other rounds

Also think we're in a bit of a crap position when it comes to cups, despite the good league cup run. Starting a cup competition we know we aren't going to win it, there's no excitement about whether this could be the year. But equally we don't consider ourselves the kind of league one club that would be buzzing just to get to the 5th round and draw Liverpool or whatever. Also we keep getting boring as fuck draws. Wouldn't have minded a tie against the MET police or something random like that, but every time it's a dull league team. Fair play to everyone going, but can see why it doesn't appeal to a lot
