Why broken record Sam Allardyce is fooling no one... least of all West Ham fans

To be fair I couldn't give a toss about what Sam said or didn't say about West Ham or their fans - I've always been more than a bit wide eyed at the whole 'West Ham way' and so forth - does it mean anything? What have they won and what have they achieved as a result? The same as the lot up the road - bugger all, despite all the talk.

Sam Allardyce's track record as a proven premier league manager is all that matters for me - if others don't like his pragmatic/effective/one dimensional (delete as applicable) style then they are welcome to their opinion - time will tell whether West Ham were right or wrong to get rid of him, frankly I don't care, but all I do know is, be careful what you wish for.

Two things to take into consideration the first being that they were boing him every week regardless of the result and secondly it was almost common knowledge from around January that he was getting the push at the end of the season

Ah, the now-annual "warnings from last club" thread, which is derided until about a year down the line, where its bumped as found to be true.

Ouch.
on the contrary, he will keep you up and steady the ship which is probbly what you need right now

just be aware it will not be pretty.

Not really a comparison to be made mind you. Unless we're determined to protect 'The Sunderland Way' of playing and I've missed it over the last quarter of a century.

We were up in arms about it from day one.

Not true.

I certainly wasn't even though he said 100 times more than Allardyce has when he left. He also blamed his departure on the fans & the club despite producing some truly dire losing performances.

Allardyce coasted to 'survival' and had them in the top 6 before the whole world being told he was a dead man walking.

You're comparing chalk with cheese and it doesn't work.

all this West Ham way stuff is that we like to see our sides play entertaining attacking football

it's not some set formation or style and the press have made more out of it than anyone else

unfortunately if the "West ham way" is as I said attractive attacking football, then we were right Allardyce does not provide it

the change in both style and results was moving Downing from the centre and breaking up the successful Sakho Valencia partnership

all done to accomodate Nolan and Carroll. Who strangely share an agent with him

If the club sanctioned those two players I can't see the problem. Carroll will no doubt be sold now according to your train of thought.

I wonder if there's an underscoring PL club that needs a target man ;)

no problem other than taking us from top 4 to bottom of the table form

of course numerous people have named him corrupt, there were also the rumours Morrison was dropped for refusing to take Curtis as his agent. but you can ignore that I guess

as for Carroll not sure you'd be willing to take on his wages? Javis may be available in th summer too

I see you've bee linked with a move for Tomkins also. Want to hazard a guess who he took on as his agent recently?

We were linked with Tompkins before Allardyce.

I'm also sure the players had a hand in losing form.

What a f***ing load of shit "The West Ham way", every supporter would like to see their team playing attractive attacking football, when was the last time you did it consistently? and why is it "The West Ham" way? f***ing hell, its nearly as bad as the "Iconic" number 9 shirt

Look hard enough and you can find potential conspiracies in every thing. There was a theory back in 1999-2000 that Peter Reid was a racist because we had no black players at the club, the theory then was expanded to state he only signed Gerry Harrison to counter that allegation.

Used to f***ing hate that fat ****. Hard man my arse.
a full back who just used to go around clattering people - when he got his shot at Liverpool he didnt last long and was soon back at West Ham.

Genuine opinion here, but I'm not sure West Ham have played the "West Ham Way" for the past 3 decades.

People love a good conspiracy.

I have it from a good source that his real name is actually Al Lardarse

The club, yes. They treated him poorly.
We have plenty of fans on here who slag managers off. Dick was getting quite a bit of stick recently, and all the others have had shed loads.
Social media allows fans a voice, and we're just as critical on here as any other fans. It's pathetic then for us to be outraged when other fans do the same.
We justify what we write about our managers because we're watching their every move. We know more about what's going on than other fans looking in from the outside do.
West Ham fans were the ones paying to watch his football week in, and week out, so surely it's their prerogative to criticise if they feel let down. Who are we to tell them they can't. I'd be pissed if other fans were slagging us off for being critical of any of our previous managers.
I'm likewise likely to be pissed off at any manager who has a pop at me for criticising him. I, after all am the paying customer. If I don't like what I see, then I'll bicker on a message board if I want to.

Well its official, people on this board can turn ANY thread into a dig at our fans :lol:
