Why broken record Sam Allardyce is fooling no one... least of all West Ham fans

It's difficult to judge the latter part of his last season at West Ham.

Everyone knew he was on the way out and that is normally suicidal for a club.

It's just a fan getting worked up about Sam having a pop at them. ( not the club, but the fans)

I'm surprised that our fans, who moaned about Bruce doing it to us can't see the irony in slagging off a WH fan for doing the same. FFS, what a precious bunch we are, if we can't see that.
Sorry mate I should have worded it better. What did Sam say to piss them off?

It's the thread I object to.

Bruce went on about Sunderland for years, even on the day they were promoted and at Wembley.

There's no comparison and therefore no irony.

Broken record

He mentioned how his wife goes on message boards of the club's he's managing. She told him that WH fans said horrible things about him. She's signed up on here now by the way, so you'll have to mind your Ps, and Qs.
To be honest, I think the WH fan who wrote that piece, had a sense of humour fail, but the reactions to it on here have been pathetic, given our moans at Bruce.
All I'm hearing is "but we were justified", and they are just deluded wankers, for daring to criticise him.

Correct. Some of the most Arrogant fans in football.
They're just fans, who want the best for their club.

We were up in arms about it from day one.

Bruce was doing it virtually every other week though. I would agree mind if Allardyce keeps on mentioning it but I doubt he will.

West Ham fans are doing nothing we wouldn't do if the roles were reversed. We kick off just as much if Bruce has a dig.

Fucks sake man, if a journo or pundit dare says we aren't that good then it's part of a media wide "hate Sunderland" agenda.

So to critics WHU for this is f***ing retarded

This was written by a fan soon after he was sacked.

'Needless to say, this is a man who won three out of his last 20 Premier League games at West Ham. This is a man who, after reaching the 'magic' 40-point mark, simply packed his bags and went for an early holiday. Allardyce needs to stop with all this, man up and take responsibility for doing a shoddy job.'

Was that written by a bitter child? Ignoring the crap style and poor English he talks about facts then says Sam won 3 in 20 and in the next breath says would the Sunderland fans be happy in we won 3 out of 20 at the Stadium of Light. Funny run of fixtures those playing 20 home matches on the spin :)

Tin hat on here, but most of you are missing the point. Sam, within 5 mins of getting another job, has had a pop at the West Ham fans. This is an article by a fan who's pissed off by that. He didn't need to mention them at all, but just like Bruce did to us, he couldn't resist a sly dig.
We were up in arms about that, and rightly so.

He was treated fairly shabbily by West Ham (unlike bruce who was taking us down and had replaced Bent and Gyan with Wickham and Ji!). The fan is spinning it one way and not giving Sam any credit for gaining promotion and establishing the club in the Premier League. He left them in way better shape than Bruce left us!

The club, yes. They treated him poorly.
We have plenty of fans on here who slag managers off. Dick was getting quite a bit of stick recently, and all the others have had shed loads.
Social media allows fans a voice, and we're just as critical on here as any other fans. It's pathetic then for us to be outraged when other fans do the same.
We justify what we write about our managers because we're watching their every move. We know more about what's going on than other fans looking in from the outside do.
West Ham fans were the ones paying to watch his football week in, and week out, so surely it's their prerogative to criticise if they feel let down. Who are we to tell them they can't. I'd be pissed if other fans were slagging us off for being critical of any of our previous managers.
I'm likewise likely to be pissed off at any manager who has a pop at me for criticising him. I, after all am the paying customer. If I don't like what I see, then I'll bicker on a message board if I want to.

Something about they make a lot of noise when things are not going well

Do we win 3 out of 20 at home?

He knew they weren't going to renew his contract and he would be out of work by May. If that happened to me, I wouldn't give a shit either.
he didn't know till the end of april. Per Sam himself

Karren Brady told Allerdyce last Christmas they would not be renewing his contract as manager, the club wanted a manager who could play more attractive football; the term "the West Ham Way" was coined. In the second half of the season West Ham were very poor, no doubting that. but knowing the manager was a dead man walking caused most of it. Personally I don't give a shit what West Ham fans think, he came in when they got relegated, got them promoted and established them as a premier league team

Again not according to Sam she didn't

Ah, the now-annual "warnings from last club" thread, which is derided until about a year down the line, where its bumped as found to be true.

Ouch.
