Why are we so hated in League 1

Because we are critical of the standard of the football in League One and let's be fair as a member of that league we have a right to say so. The very condition of many of the grounds indicates that teams that have ambitions to play decent football are to be prevented from doing so. I don't believe that its all just down to the quality of the players in the league its more to do with the managers and how they direct the games and use players.

After the shit we have had to put up with over the years, why do these clubs, managers and their fans seem to detest us so much. The way Robinson and Barton have gone on making out that we are a bunch of arseholes that have referees in our pockets and are cheating our way out of the league. Surely its the opposite. I hope to fuck we get out of this league this time and leave these dickheads in our rear view mirror.

we’ve a billionaire owner they don’t

jealousy is an ugly trait

Calling every other team tin pot did it.... Your considered very much up yourselves by most in this league..
This whole tinpot thing is bollocks. On here it’s a term used. There’s been no fans anywhere near the games and the club doesn’t go about using it. Cocks like Barton, Evans and Robinson and Jackett all new we were a soft touch, played on it. Would get results against us. This season we’ve given as good as we’ve got and that edge they had when they played us has gone. Inferiority complex I think is the term I d use to describe them knackers

Think fans of other clubs would often show a dislike to any club that boasts large crowds and recent prem history ( well I say recent).

Managers making excuses and feeling the same way is ridiculous in truth and says more about them.

Rarely used the term tinpot to describe clubs when we first landed in this division, but since then we've had the word "shithousery" added to our vocabulary. So many clubs take it to such an extreme level we can't think of them as anything other than tinpot.
Can understand other fans disliking us when we call them that but wouldn't happen so much if their teams concentrated on playing football.

This league is tinpot and teams shouldn't take that personal because it isn’t intended to be personal. This league is poor, most teams do not play or even attempt to play, it is largely devoid of quality and Sunderland for the bulk of our almost 3 seasons have been a culprit.

Rule by fear, be revered, at last they are seeing a rejuvenated almost dominant period from the LADS and can not stand it ,but my guess the team talks from some managers before playing us contain some of the following
Forget their history, they think they are above and better than us , they hate being in this league lets keep the bastards down here, they are as soft as shite, spineless and when we did have home crowds get in to them score first and get those fuckers on the players backs.
It appears, all being well, we may not have to worry about these other teams next season, they can turn their attentions to Sheff/wed or maybe Birmingham city
I reckon most of the vitriole comes from jealous management and owners from some of the clubs but i have respect for the ordinary fans and stalwart supporters of every club in this division who can see the whole picture and love their club as much as we loves ours.

They love us when we bring the numbers to their grounds making them money. Every time we played them they‘d have a spike on their balance sheets.

the facilities mate, as a player and manager managing some of the smaller clubs there, getting changed in portacabins, showering from buckets and getting rubbed down on trestle tables. a touch of the green eyed monster's only natural imo

It boils down to the fact that we shouldn't be in this division. Any time we beat anyone it's too easy for the opposition coach to blame it on our resources and budget being miles ahead of whatever tinpot set up they have, likewise if we lose or draw it's seen as a scalp so they're desperate to get one over us.

I think Leadbitter made a good point a few weeks ago that most players in L1 would love to play for us so raise their game in the hope of getting noticed, all of that stuff plays a part.
Bang on with that mate
Let’s face it- since we went down into this league most clubs have come to the SOL looking for one thing- a point

So that's a reason to be disrespectful ?
We are in this league because we were shit in the PL and even worse in the Championship.
What gives our fans the right to diss a league we deserve to be in through the appalling mismanagement of our club ?
I have maximum respect for the fans of the likes of Accrington, Fleetwood and Rochdale who turn up every week when bigger clubs aren't too far away.
True fans who love their clubs and don't expect anything in return in terms of trophies, Wembley Europe etc.
I would never lower myself to disrespect them.
Why are you trying to twist my words? Anyone can do that and it's boring to be honest.
I wasn't being disrespectful to other clubs or fans as well you know.
I stated the reason people call this a shitty league is because it is just that. The standard is awful and dire to watch. I included our team in that but I suspect you already knew that.

Exactly, the standard is dreadful and the gamesmanship/cheating is off the scale, perhaps we've noticed it more than most because of our rapid descent - we went from watching us play Guardiola's City to being shithoused by Wycombe within the space of 2 years - but I don't see how anybody can get precious about us saying it, isn't that why everybody wants to get promoted? So we get to watch our teams play a better standard of football with better players?
