Who the fuck are you like the head scout?:lol:

Not at all, just someone who likes my football, and actually watched the young players when we were playing in the Championship. You can spot a proper footballer a mile off.

Ashton, Varney & Steve Jones always put on a good show against us at Gresty Road, as did Joe Ledley and Cameron Jerome at Cardiff, and a 16/17 year old Tom Huddlestone at Derby really stod out. I was gutted when Everton snapped up Tim Cahill as he'd helped Millwall rip us a new arse, alongside Paul Ifill in their midfield the season we got to the FA Cup semi final at Old Trafford.

Fuck off, you play football manager like the rest of us and found a decent young player who turned out canny in real life

Seeing as Gyan and Bent cost us in the region of £25m, I would hope so, and Welbeck has got a ways to go yet. One tap in last week hardly puts him into the top echelon of Premier League strikers. I hope he carries on developing, while he's with us, but I don't see him as the big threat to Premier League defences that Carroll is already proving to be just yet.

It seems a few people have had their feathers ruffled, and are finding it hard to come to terms with how well the lad is doing. He's a cock, but if you can't see some footballing potential, then you really need to think about taking up tiddlywinks, or some other hobby where thoughtful analysis isn't required.

And yet you are lauding Carroll as the next big thing after a decent start to his first ever Premier league season.

I still don't think Carroll's very good.

I think he'll be a one season wonder, and then fade away. It may be wishful thinking of course but I don't think he has much to his game and will be found out very quickly.

am I? I must read through what I've written again. All I said was I thought at the start of the season that he looked like he would cause problems to PL defences THIS season, and that, in my opinion, I thought he would get a decent haul of goals. This at a time when some, not all, were laughing and comparing the lad to a poor man's Kevin Kyle.

It seems strange that just about every professional footballer, coach and manager rate the lad as a very good prospect (which is all he is at the moment), yet the collective experts on the SMB see someone on a par with a big hearted but ultimately limited ex-baggage handler. I loved Kyle's efforts, and he had the odd glimpse that he had something, but nowhere near the tools in his bag that Carroll is showing.

...cough....

Football Manager is a series of football management simulation games developed by Sports Interactive and published by Sega. The game began its life in 1992 as Championship Manager; however, following the break-up of their partnership with original publishers Eidos Interactive, Sports Interactive lost the naming rights and re-branded the game Football Manager with their new publishers Sega.

I honestly didnt see the lad doing as well as he is at the moment. Saw him for the mags the year they went down and he was shite. Didnt watch em in the Championship mind.

Now I've seen him play a few more times he is a handful, is not too bad on the floor and has better pace than you'd expect. I still don't see him as a top striker, but he wont dont badly and will win himself more caps.
