Who was ITV commentator?

Change yer avatar ya daft racist

Looks like someone's done it for me.

To be fair, all he said was that he didn’t hear anything personally and Montenegro didn’t have a reputation for it. Thought it was a fairly neutral comment personally.

Mate. Come on. Having the headphones on isn't a excuse. Wouldn't he be able to listen better with the pitch mikes on?

You could hear it from the very start. Every time one of England's black players got the ball the catcalls & booing levels increased.

Tbf Montenegro have always had an issue with racism. So okay he might be deaf, but it doesn't excuse being completely clueless.

Exactly what I thought at the time, why do you think he pulled a monkey face after he scored you stupid arse!

This.

Tonight?

What a f***ing prick you are. You are what's wrong with society today.

"I didn't hear anything of a racist nature. Don't know why Sterling celebrated like that. It's best that he doesn't taunt the home fans."
Heard that too. You could hear the fans on the telly giving him grief (they were the only ones making any noise ffs).

Didn't he follow that up with a comment along the lines of "the Montenegrins aren't the type of fans that would give out racist abuse"?

It's very weird.

If you read back the live text coverage from both the Guardian and the Telegraph, there is no mention at all of any racist abuse, at least not until Sterling's celebration, and not did the TV commentators mention it until that point, and then it was to specifically say they had not heard anything that sounded like racist abuse.

On the TV is just sounded like general booing of the England team, with nothing different for black players. It probably would be difficult to pick out from just normal booing of the team though.

It all seemed to kick off after the Sterling celebration and Rose quickly afterwards launching one of their players into the air.

No excuse if it did descend into racist abuse after that, but was it not just a case of those two players getting extra stick after those two incidents?
