Who likes us being skinflints ?

I'd want it to be balanced. Wouldn't want us to sell the naming rights if it's barely going to make a difference. If it gets us a few players fair enough.

I find it all so frustrating.
After years and years of heartache and unadulterated rubbish, we have finally turned the corner (albeit in League 1) and it seems like there are "supporters" who have to have something to whinge about.
Why, just why?
Correct ...it would seem the op is in a minority of.......one!(nee one called it yet?!)

I'm more than happy that we have reformatted everything.

But having watched a bit of championship footie recently I can honestly say we are a million miles from top 6 championship and premier league is a different dimension.

If we are going to build within our means then I can't see anything other than many years before we even reach Derbys level never mind premier. Even the championship seems so much faster, so much sharper.

I'm starting to like the sound of a fast track track billionaire option if I'm honest.

I have no affinity to the name of the ground. I ve never liked it to be honest. The ground isn’t old enough to get all precious over its name and imo whoever does sponsor it will likely incorporate Stadium of Light into its new name anyway. It’s the modern game and we aren’t a big enough global brand to turn our noses up at any extra source of income.

Obviously balancing the books etc etc
But are people enjoying the 'havent got a pot to piss in " scenario ?

Talk about selling the stadium name and changing our badge to "simplify"
It pisses me off personally just to make a few quid. Surely if Methven is as good as people say on here he wouldn't have to sell our stadium name to raise a few quid?

I'm loving the players we have brought in for next to nothing , proper trier's and what we need in this league

I'm really enjoying the footy side of it but the talk of the selling our identity is proper shite like
I like it. Ther is no 'no pot to piss in ' scenario. we have an owner and his team spend what can be afforded and ensure that there is quality in the purchase. Long may it continue.

16 games into us trying to live within our means and promote players from within and you’re wishing for a billionaire to come in and spunk money on players who don’t give a flying fuck about the club - barely a day after we just finished sacking one of them, and less than 6 months after our last owner had to write off about £50 million of debt. We’re still on course to lose £5 million this year despite us having the highest income in the league because of the last decade of billionaire ownership.

This place sometimes.

Yep the last fast track billionaire worked out brilliantly didn’t he.

It's fine. I'm just pleased we have a team that works hard and gives a shit. The fact that we're winning more games is a very welcome bonus.

And some want to just rinse and repeat.
I'd take a billionaire who knows what they're doing with a football club (like say Monaco for example) and has an intent to work with the great guys we already have running the club, although right now with FFP it wouldn't make much difference if any.

selling the naming rights is something we should do once promoted, spurs are looking at £200 million, more than we will get but it gives you an idea of the money involved.

Tv money in this league is virtually non existent and we’re still on course to make a £5 million loss this year as it is. I couldn’t give a shiny shite if someone wants to give us a few quid to call the ground Stadio Beko or something.

Every penny counts, we aren’t getting £100 million from Sky anymore.
100% this. We are not skint but we are running at a loss - which is unsustainable long term.
The playing side is going excellently, so hopefully we'll be back in the champo next year - and I for one think we have a side that will be competitive and a management team committed to improve it further.
