Well that's certainly a valid opinion. I was just speculating that Ranieri might not think as clearly as the Sunderland fan base ;)
That's almost certainly true, but the point I was making is that if he prefers Monte Carlo to Seaburn, what other serious errors of judgement is he capable of making?

Hoddle
JFK
Hope Powell
Trappatoni
Craig Levein
Dave Bassett
Clarke Carlisle
Ally McMoist
Sven
Kenny Dalglish
Andy Gray and Richard Keyes dream team
Sheera

the funny thing is we have a decent team with cabral and cattermole back into the mix, I'd say anyone who knows how to manage an average squad of players and due to the type of player we've had he should probably like to play it on the deck.

I wouldn't be entirely against Lennon come to think of it - he's done a good job with Celtic.

Somebody like Nigel Clough would get my support too.

Can't be arsed with McClaren or Pulis, Solskjaer's done nowt to get the job really, not sure about Di Matteo or Poyet.

most sensible choose and the one i voted for steve mcclaren. if not him then i would like to see us go for claudio ranieri that would make a statement and be the bold move

Who do you NOT want might be an interesting question.

I would have Tony Pulis right up there.

May as well kick this off early

The list is quite worrying

Could you start again with Gary Neville on your list. I wanted him as manager before PDC was given the job.
It might be unlikely to happen but his name should be on the list. Either way the question should be put to him.
I think he'd make a great manager for us.

If they're determined to stick with the European model and have a DoF and a Chief Scout then you have to look at managers who have worked under that system before. Can't see any British manager accepting that. The only one that has any kind of experience of that set up is Steve McClaren and he hasn't done much in recent seasons.

Can't see it being Di Matteo unless he was really desperate to get back in. They'll probably end up sacking all the backroom staff and we'll end up with Pulis.

My first choice is the Norwegian Gunner, Ole.

But whoever comes in has to be someone who can work with the players we've got in the sort of attacking style that Di Canio wanted. Can't have another managers special overhaul next summer.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaar. Learned his stuff under the best and keen for an opportunity to impress in the big boys league. Oh yes and he's actually intelligent, which would make a change.

Would love to see Solskjaer but I'm picturing someone like Pulis.

Solskjaer is a choice you make when you are taking a long-term view. Someone with potential but not that much experience. You are looking for the next Michael Laudrop.

Pulis is someone you hire when you want to avoid short-term humiliation. Like Roy Hodgson. Which is why England hired him. What about Harry Rednapp? Why isn't he on this list?
