Rangers.

I base what is classed as a big club on exposure/how well known a club is nationally or internationally, size of fanbase, and trophies/success. It’s hard to compare these on the last point in this case because of the obvious gulf between the standard of the leagues but with the first 2 Rangers blow Leeds out the water, for all Leeds are also very well known and have a big fanbase.

Well done OP. Love a nar nowt sorting thread. It’s not quite Hendo v Pissbiscuit but it’s got possibilities.
Aye I'm surprised how it's been broadly split...I would say 60 40 in rangers favour so far

In all honesty, it's Rangers by a mile. Huge fanbase, more trophies than any other club in the world, pretty much half of the country they play in supports them.

Just a shame that as a club, they're a bunch of absolute knobheads.

Keep seeing shit like Celtic and Rangers would be top clubs in England, but they're lightyears behind the current CL clubs and after a few years out of Europe their better players would fuck off, and fewer promising players would be joining them. Sure they've big followings now, but how would that stand up if they're no longer competing for domestic honours every season, no longer enjoying European competition, no longer winning every game?

Depends on your criteria. Gut feel is that it's Rangers for me (based upon fan base & 'reach') but that's undermined by the fact they play in a highly uncompetitive, pretty pointless, domestic league system.

Rangers have turned down a bid from Leeds of £10 million for Ryan Kent

Obviously Leeds play in a much better league so can attract better players, higher wages, etc

But I think Glasgow Rangers are an absolutely huge club (likewise Celtic) .... In fact I'd put them above Leeds in terms of passionate support, stadium and if were placed in English league would be a huge draw for many players.
Stupid question.
Rangers and Celtic are largely magnets to two sets of religious followers with distinct Catholic and Protestant identities , rather than a ‘normal’ football club.
They play in a country where there is no genuine competition and in a City whose population and catchment areas are far bigger than anywhere else in Scotland.
The competition in England for support is far more competitive and spread out.
Celtic and Rangers are largely not just about football and anyone who argues otherwise ignores reality.
Asking about Leeds and Rangers is an illogical argument.

I agree I believe that Rangers are bigger but as the thread shows a proportion don't. Leeds fans see themselves as a huge club.. Certainly the biggest in Yorkshire and they would argue bigger than Rangers so I thought I'd open the question up to people

You are wrong, give them the premier league money and they would be up there with the top 6 easily, in terms of revenue, shirt sales, even ticket prices would go up, hospitality, the lot. They would probably get a load of new fans worldwide.
