Who’s the most knowledgeable pundit on here?

I love you SAFCOldie

I can remember loads of games form the 70s/80s but after that my mind becomes a blank.

If I had to pick one poster who is knowledgable but seldom posts then Novelty Island would be the man - a vet of over 4/500 away games never mind home games

Nee Onions Mate has his moments as well but is quote silly with it

I've forgotten more about SAFC than you will ever know youngin'.
TBF the lot we know would wipe the floor with anyone on here (MBH excepted). The wisemen, teach, NI, taff, dabber etc etc

Google

edit: and wiki

That's about the size of it, a lot of the 'knowledge' about Sunderland, on here, is pure cut&paste from reference sources.

Nowt wrong with that provided you don't pretend it's all on the tip of your tongue ......... some people have incredible recall whereas some of us can't remember dates, scorers or results from important games we actually went to  (Loads of us judging by the arguments on here.)

And the thing is that we all remember different things from the same match/day out. Some people on here have a dig at us because what we experienced at a certain game was not the same as they did!

Kevin Arnott's Right Boot has a great memory for detail and stats.
Cheers marra. I'd put myself up against anybody when it comes to the history of SAFC, and English football in general. I also think I'm pretty good when it comes to spotting a decent player.

However, I know sod all about European and world football, and am not as good at some of the tactical aspects of the game as others on here.

Perry and rentaghost, when they get going, are by far the best double act.
I also enjoy reading Corvus and fishpaste.

What 3 home games were vouchers dished out for the 92 cup final??:-D

I've done my time hurling abuse around. I only do it now if its well deserved. OK, as long as it's deserved.

I'm still one of the best posters .......blah.......celebrating my 10th anniversary next year. I'm looking forward ....blah.

This thread was obviously created for me.

I thank you.

Anyone else saying the above would raise a smile but coming from the self-styled Mr. SAFC, most will think you believe it.

In terms of the OP question though, you'd be in with a shout along with Capt. F, Vinegar Hill, safcOldie etc.

Riv cannot be included though. His "knowledge" is all about the match day experience and, by his own admition, can't remember details. He's the Micky Horswill of the SMB - a legend but daint talk about the game with him.

Has the Strawberry got a vote yet? :)

Don't know neither but was hanging over the main stand seats to the lads in the paddocks below singing get your season tickets now :)

I had a Fulwell season ticket at the time but paid in for those games to get my vouchers (Charlton, Ipswich and Plymouth (pissing down) BTW;)

Numbers didn't come up though:neutral:

Just checked the stats.

Charlton 1 2 Saturday
Ipswich 3 0 Tuesday
Plymouth 0 1 Thursday.
good work i thought we had drawn one. glad to see i was right that we had a thursday game
