A few of mine ( Glen scotia double cask and Tobermory etc )are decent but really bought for mother in law and just put in to make up numbers.

Others will stand out a mile...the infrequent flyers Strathclyde single grain for one.

Ardbeg have their malt vault open again today, 2 "epic" bottles from their archives for £199.

Have seen pics on FB of people claiming to have gotten the 25, 24, 23 etc etc, but knowing my luck I'd end up with the last 2 committee releases that they can't get rid of.

Has anyone ever indulged before..?

Nope...got the e mail but forgot all about it.

As you say I'd be likely to get their average/poor committee releases as well

You infuse the supplied botanicals in a high quality vodka for a few weeks apparently.

There seems to be a pattern emerging with purchases. if you go for 2, you're very likely to get 17yo/anamorphic, quite likely to get 17yo/one of the 19yo batches, less likely to get one of the named releases (Drum, Ardcore etc). if you go for more than 4 bottles, at least one uncommon bottle is generally included. Seems typically cynical of LVMH.

Attending an event at the Washback at Springbank, they’ve had a shed load of new whiskies to the menu. This is a stand out.
