Yikes. I don’t think my credit card limit could cover that lot!I promised myself I’d spend more modestly at this years festival. I evidently lied.

Machranish golf course has a great new club house, amazing views and decent food.A week of golf, whisky and walking has just been confirmed in Machrihanish/Campbeltown at the beginning of September.
I was there about two years ago when the new clubhouse had just opened. It's a great facility with smashing views. The twilight golf rate has doubled over those two years from £45 to £90.Machranish golf course has a great new club house, amazing views and decent food.

I called in on Friday but as was working, couldn't stay long. There were queues for the bottles as you'd expect so unfortunately I missed out on all of them. Did manage to get a 12 CS the other week though so happy with that. And you never know, there could be some left in the shop this week?@black-cat the Cadenhead Bruichladdich is also worth a purchase if there’s any left. Much better than I expected.
There were some 12CS in the shop on the Monday but they’d sold out by the time I went in on Tuesday morning.I called in on Friday but as was working, couldn't stay long. Aye I heard that, was looking at getting a back up myself. Write ups on this release seem quite favourableThere were some 12CS in the shop on the Monday but they’d sold out by the time I went in on Tuesday morning.
Is pretty good. Ordered a bottle last week for around the same price from Amazon with S&S. Free delivery with Prime. This looks a decent price for Ledaig 10.

We were in Edinburgh shop a few weeks back and staff were a bit arsey…not put me off their stuff but customer relations left a bit to be desired.Next Cadenhead out turn:
Glen Garioch 11yo Bourbon 54.1% - £55
Glen Grant 14yo PX Finish 59.9% - £75
Knockdhu 10yo PX Finish 54.3% - £60
Linkwood 10yo Bourbon 55.4% - £55
Ord 13yo Armagnac Finish 56.4% - £70
Springbank 26yo Bourbon 56.7% - £600
Tomatin 12yo Calvados Finish 55.5% - £65
Union 5yo Oloroso 56.9% - £45
.
Other than the obvious I’m tempted by the Union on the basis the last one they released was so good
Can’t say I’ve frequented it much, I almost exclusively deal with the Campbeltown shop. They have a nice bar and a really cool blending lab in there now where you can blend your own whisky. We were in Edinburgh shop a few weeks back and staff were a bit arsey…not put me off their stuff but customer relations left a bit to be desired.

On a different note, I’ve eagerly anticipating this tasting tomorrow night. I’ve surprised myself that I haven’t drank the samples yet as I’ve had them in my possession for 3 weeks.

The price isn’t bad, though I’d suggest the samples supplied are likely to be young and/or low abv. There are several online stores that sell whisky samples if you wanted to go that route, the key benefit being you can pick the whisky yourself.I seen this mentioned in another thread -You must be logged on to see external links- Anyone a member and is it worth it?
