Or me.No luck for me![]()
Yikes. I guess that is the peril of owning casks and you have to build that into your yield calculations?I reckon Bimber might store their casks in a greenhouse. I’ve had my cask re-gauged and it’s lost a third of its volume after a little over 3 years!
I’d typically expect 15-20%. Perhaps a little more if it was an Amrut or Kavalan or some such. A mate of mine has a few casks at Lindores. One of his 50l casks has lost over half its volume.Yikes. I guess that is the peril of owning casks and you have to build that into your yield calculations?
Just been in Chestnut House…really a good selection given the type of shop…even this time hand filled springbanks as well as their CS, 15, 10 and various KK and Longrow and Hazelburn.I’d typically expect 15-20%. Perhaps a little more if it was an Amrut or Kavalan or some such. A mate of mine has a few casks at Lindores. One of his 50l casks has lost over half its volume.

The RMW Drammers Draw for the various Springbank release bottles was up briefly but taken down again for a technical glitch. It may be worth monitoring if you’re after any of the bottles.
Wowza that's gotta be up there with Kavalan !I reckon Bimber might store their casks in a greenhouse. I’ve had my cask re-gauged and it’s lost a third of its volume after a little over 3 years!
Any idea what the cadenheads release is for this year's festival mate?I’d typically expect 15-20%. Perhaps a little more if it was an Amrut or Kavalan or some such. A mate of mine has a few casks at Lindores. One of his 50l casks has lost over half its volume.

It’s a 15yo Bruichladdich from a Chateau Climens hogshead. Only 20cl bottles though.Any idea what the cadenheads release is for this year's festival mate?
About the same colour as wellIt’s a 15yo Bruichladdich from a Chateau Climens hogshead. Only 20cl bottles though.
This has vastly improved as I’ve worked my way down the bottle. It’s now bursting with freshly pressed blackcurrant juice.

I noticed that this year's HB 31 was below the standard 46%, 42.3% or similar. Still on the shelves when I was in this morning, as was LR 21, however I just picked up the latest CS 12 (of which there was plenty too) Gutted I missed out on last year's 14yo Islay from Cadenhead's so might try and get one each of theseI’ve just been told there’s also a 42yo blend, 20cl too. Below 40% abv

It's impossible to pick now their must be 30+ in there but it's a great way to mix your odds and ends, it's always been an interesting dram but I do try to keep away from putting anything heavily peated in.Slainte! I recognise the Nikka bottle. Which infinity bottle contributor whisky did you like the most?
If the blend is as good as the last one I had from Edrington (that sherry appreciation society one) then it should be good. Hoping there's still some of the festival bottles left by the time I can make it down there, which won't be until about half three/four. Missed out on the Springbank last year, and walked right by the Cadenheads without realisingRe the Campbeltown festival bottles. £40 for each, the laddie is a Lochindaal while the blend is Edrington.
Got to try the fino sherry cask that is going to be part of the Springbank sherry range yesterday. Far superior to the previously released PX imho.

The SB festival bottle is a bit pricey though it is a 24yo. All 35cl bottles. If the blend is as good as the last one I had from Edrington (that sherry appreciation society one) then it should be good.
