I've had two beach weddings myself man and nobody wore shorts. One was on Hayman Island in the Whitsundays so hot and humid. Light trousers and linen shirts as mentioned would be the go.

Lovely. Blagged my way onto a yacht trip round there years ago. Managed to burn my feet by having them in the water all the way round.

If it is hot out, wear socks that are lower than the tops of your shoes. They are easy to buy, cheap, will prevent you from looking like a moron, and will prevent your feet from reeking.
