Which Safc goal have you celebrated the most??

Bardo in the semi final. By the time me and my pal got back together we’d conceded

Chelsea at home, any of the Mags away, or Rochdale away a few seasons ago when we won it with about the last kick of the game.

Really? It was dead early in the match, im not wishing to disagree but surely you would of celebrated it as much as everyone celebrated the Borini goal against City (for example). Similar circumstances for example.

Now I’m not denying that the celebration at the end would of been unmatched by anything though!
Thirty first minute mara not that it matters. Biggest Fa cup final upset in history. Nothing near it for me.

Mine wasn't a crucial goal .
It was the first Sunderland match my dad took me to v Portsmouth,in the fulwell end, my Dad plonked me on one of those red barriers, i remember it clear as day corner comes over Billy Hughes rises like a salmon and heads it into the top corner , first time i'd heard a roar when a goal went in ,sure i was bumped off the barrier, chaos allower , i was hooked after that ,my Dad's job was done god bless him.

Johnson V the mags
Johnson V the mags
Johnson V the mags
Borini V the mags
Defoe V the mags

I was at eveyr game V that lot so feel free to guess which goals Im referencing

Bardsley v Man United would have been next if lists were 6 entries long rather than 5. Alas

The second goal in the Play off final vs Charlton to put us 2-1 ahead (once we went ahead that season it was usually it - bedlam!).

Byrne in the Semi final. Mental in the Kop end.

Quinn winner against the Mags. Ended up few rows and seats away. Probably a few more like that against them. Phillips making it 2-2 at the SoL was a good one.

Ji v Man City. Just about did a back flip through the sitting room window.
Was going to say Richardson Vs the Mags, but then saw this and remembered I played back the radio clip about 30 times it was so good - the crowd rising, crusing again, then going bonkers when it went it. Not many things in life can get your dander up like that.

The ones where I was at the game:

All the goals v Man city 1973
Roy greenwood v mags, my first derby game.
Benno and Marco v Man city at Maine road. Mental 5 minutes.
John Byrne's equaliser at chelsea in 1992. 5 mins from end. Absolutely crazy.
Richardson's free kick v mags.

Marco against the mags at St James.

Anyone who was there will tell you of the release that goal gave, we'd been 1-0 up early on but we were under the cosh most of that game.

Johnson's against the scum, last few minutes made it so much better.
There’s a few to choose from
Same as a few others.....Armstrong v Chelsea. Was amazing when it went in, at full time and continued celebrating till about 4 in the morning in the days of lock ins. I wouldn't have the stamina now.
I drove back to London after and went straight to work

Jermaine Defoe's goal against Palace away in 2015, once again managed to create something out of virtually nothing!

Because it was a superlative finish?
There've been a few, but possibly Richardson's bullet free kick v the *****....
Mine was Cisse's goal, must have jumped 6ft in the air jumping about like a nut lost my vision and told myself to calm down whilst sitting on the top of my seat. Think it took 5 mins to recover

A few more niche 90s ones:

Russell in Reid’s first match as manager v Sheff Utd late on to put us 1-0 up

Russell away at Man Utd in the cup to go 2-1 up just 3 mins after we’d scored to make it 1-1

Phillips at Man City to make it 2-2 in a game we eventually lost 4-2. Again, we scored twice in about 3 mins

2nd and 3rd are both ones where we scored two quick goals to totally turn the game around.

Ross Wallace at Derby is another example.

Nowt better as you’re still on a high from the first goal and the second one sends you mental.

Marco against the mags at St James.

Anyone who was there will tell you of the release that goal gave, we'd been 1-0 up early on but we were under the cosh most of that game.
We weren't really. Norman didn't make a save 2nd half. First half they had a few chances, hardly anything 2nd half. Bennet was outstanding.
