This was late in his career think it was playing mid week stuff. He was at Houghton when they won Coast League about 1990

That would be around right. He was at whitburn mid 90s (94-96?). At the time, a lot of coast league lads came across cos of the borthwicks. Most struggled with the step up.

Last time I seen him we played a midweek cup game about 7 year ago and Flacker was keeping wicket

I would have said that 20 years ago, it was a much bigger step up than it has been in last 5 years.

There were a lot of lads came across to whitburn in that period and very few were succesfull - dave borthwick apart.

I remember playing at pennywell school for ryhope school. Flacker had Knacked his leg or something and couldn't play and our team had Davy borthwick and Alan dick in it. It was all run of the mill stuff until 2 dogs ran on the field and started shagging. Needless to say we had a good laugh about it

Has everyone forgot when all the Horden seniors were around / alive...they were defo the worst the Horden pensioners...remember them shouting drop it and what not when there was a catch...can't beat the Horden pensioners bless them if they are still with us...when mr khan was spinning his web for 13k a season...he he was funny though..
