Which ground is in the roughest area?

I've been to quite a few away matches, just wondered where people found the roughest and most intimidating (Mags not included)

For me it's Upton Park. Horrible round there. Honorable mentions to Spurs, Boro, Barnsley Burnley and Wolves.

Some of the old timers must have some tales of various skirmishes at old grounds now knocked down?

Or of Roker when away fans tried to give it the biggun.

Oi my grandparents used to live right next to Oakwell in Barnsley, bit old school but its not a rough place.

Maine Road '91 on a mini bus in heavy traffic after the game. Some lads on the bus were griefing people and in particular this black fella standing at his doorway. He wasn't impressed so he pulled this massive machete out of his leather jacket - to say the bus shit
itself was an understatement!

Sheff Utd. could be a bit scary. Once got directed to a SAFC friendly pub by some 'helpful locals' only to find out it was an ambush. Four of us nearly shit ourselves.

Spurs worst I've probably been to, miles worse than West Ham imo. I actually find West Ham alreet, just your typical Eastenders type cockernee streets. Spurs on the other hand is like a ghetto.

Mags is hardly a rough area either, just the fact it's in a city centre that means it can get a bit rowdy against the likes of us because it's at the centre of everything and near all the bars. In fact unless you're a Sunlun or Boro fan it's probably the best placed ground in the league for visiting away fans.

This. All day long. The locals arnt the friendliest
The off licences with bars at windows and security drawers put your money in get your buck fast back. Rough as fck

Worst for me were Ayresome Park, Victoria Ground (Stoke), Ninian Park (Cardiff) and Filbert Street (Leicester). Horrible areas & very edgy.
Was at Minoan park in the early eighties when the sheep shaggers ambushed us and we pushed the gate in to get in ground

Bar Spurs - ghetto - Hull surrounding area is a shit tip as well. No bother ever but Jesus, what a hole.

Was there and totally agree - I could write a book about the events of that day but can't be arsed (it included a bit of very early morning interaction with Man Utd fans, who were at Orient following their relegation to the old 2nd division - about 15,000 of the fuckers turned up!)

Sorry to be pedantic, but it was the first match of the 74/75 season

You are correct sir, my apologies it was quite a while ago. Me and my mate got split up before the game from the rest of the bus. Drunk as lords we got there 15 mins after kick off, went in their end and spent the rest of the match in silence as we put 4 in.
