Spurs was an absolutely abysmal area. And ground come to that.
This.
Makes Upton Park area look like Mayfair.

I've been to quite a few away matches, just wondered where people found the roughest and most intimidating (Mags not included)
For me it's Upton Park. Horrible round there. Honorable mentions to Spurs, Boro, Barnsley Burnley and Wolves.
Some of the old timers must have some tales of various skirmishes at old grounds now knocked down?
Or of Roker when away fans tried to give it the biggun.
its a f***ing dump manIt's hardly rough
Were you there in August 1980 when we won 4 nil. It was our first away match of the season, Hawley scored a hat trick.Maine road for me too. Scary place in the dark after you've beaten them
The off licences with bars at windows and security drawers put your money in get your buck fast back. Rough as fckThis. All day long. The locals arnt the friendliest
Was at Minoan park in the early eighties when the sheep shaggers ambushed us and we pushed the gate in to get in groundWorst for me were Ayresome Park, Victoria Ground (Stoke), Ninian Park (Cardiff) and Filbert Street (Leicester). Horrible areas & very edgy.
If ever there has been 60 seconds to sum up what it's like supporting Sunderland AFC it was that minute between Bennett scoring and Owers' fuck up.Watch this goal there from Marco! Ignoring the fact that Quinny scored twice against us.
This wins hands down.Parkhead, Glasgow (Celtic)
Was there and totally agree - I could write a book about the events of that day but can't be arsed (it included a bit of very early morning interaction with Man Utd fans, who were at Orient following their relegation to the old 2nd division - about 15,000 of the fuckers turned up!)
Sorry to be pedantic, but it was the first match of the 74/75 season
