Which fans do you respect the most?

It's part of the rivalry. It's not that difficult to understand

It's rivalry but I haven't seen any of the criticism the OP is sure he's seen ... otherwise why start a thread?

I respect all of the decent Portsmouth supporters but hope the hooligans, I encountered at Wembley, leave Sunderland in an ambulance with tubes in them.

The OP has come on to have a pop at Sunderland posters but doesn't have the nerve to just say so .... now he's like a spider in a bath.

Absolutely this. I know there's genuine supporters out there, who have valid reasons for being a fan other than simply attaching theirselves to a successful side but I can't help treating them all with the same contempt.

Best one I’ve heard is “Oh my Dad supports them though.”

Oh right is he from Manchester then?

“No, Devon.”

No I opened up with the question to gauge debate, but within minutes was honest enough to say I respect Newcastle fans more London fans supporting Man United.

That’s it in a nutshell and I repeated that numerous times, there is nothing to get out of or run away from anything?

It is just a point of view!

This is what you said, "I can’t understand criticism of Newcastle fans for simply supporting the club that has been part of their upbringing and local area."

If you're making that claim you'd have seen something, on here, to justify that claim.

Post it up then people can judge whether you're talking out of your arse or not.

How hard can it be?

They call us, we call them. Its usually tit for tat. I'm genuinely confused what this thread is about tbh

It seems you determined to turn this into something it’s not, I was merely saying fans of Newcastle who supported the club that have been part of their upbringing and local area, should get more respect than London fans supporting Man United.

That’s it, if that has got lost somewhere and you want to quote every word I said and try to trip me up, then go for it.

But the point in the opening post is what is was about it.

If you want to see it as something else nothing I can do about it.

The opening post was saying I thought local Newcastle fans should get more respect than London fans supporting Man United but has been blown out of all context.

I think I have a different perspective on Newcastle fans to most people on this board, I was born and raised in North Tyneside and have lived in Newcastle supporting areas all my life.

The genuine match going fans, as well as the ones who can't afford to go or work weekends or whatever but passionately follow their team are generally very similar to us, never really gave me much shit growing up and there's definitely a level of mutual respect because both our teams have been pretty shit for ages.

There is however a fairly large proportion that don't really seem to like football, probably couldn't tell you who Newcastle are playing most weeks and have almost certainly never been to St James' Park that would jump on anything to put Sunderlsnd down, these are the types that would come out with the airport crack, blue pop, cheesy chips despite me living in the same place as them! Just wankers basically.

Not at all.

All I've done is quote back to you exactly what you said .... I haven't twisted anything or 'got lost somewhere' or seen something that's not there.

You clearly claimed that Sunderland posters criticise Newcastle supporters for simply supporting their club.

That, is exactly what you said.

You can't bring yourself to admit you were wrong so have to attempt to paint me as the one who's making something up.

I didn't need to trip you up mate ... you tied your bootlaces together, fucked up then fell on your face trying to run away

That's exactly the same perspective I have mate and, I'd imagine, is pretty common tbh.

Why. They more than likely hate us as a club. Why should we respect them?

Because they following their local club that their grandad and dad supported and have been brought up with.

Respect probably wrong word was comparing respect between them and supporters just supporting fashionable or successful clubs, it was just a point.

And was opening a debate that’s it really.

Weird thread this like. Who would criticise any decent fan for supporting their club?

The OP posed a fake question so that, later in the thread, he could say what he really meant.

What he really wants to say is 'Please stop saying nasty things about us'.

Just be honest FFS, there are so many fakes on here it's become ridiculous.

Mags pretending to be Barnsley/Leicester/Sunderland .... how do these people get through a day

You know as well as I do the general point I was making I have also repeated in several times in several posts.

If you want to trip me up on one particular post where I didn’t make that clear, then go ahead.

Wolves supporters for me, they have been in our place, and now have got the chance to do things we can only dream at the moment.

Special mention to Villa fans given there singing at the mags when they relegated them under shearer :lol:

It was blatantly obvious from the start man, not just one post.

You made a claim, can't back it up so are now claiming it was just to 'open up debate'.

You're a coward tbh, you came on to make a point but, having failed, are pretending it was actually something else entirely.

" I can’t understand criticism of Newcastle fans for simply supporting the club that has been part of their upbringing and local area."

What criticism ... you've made the accusation, back it up.

Used to work with a ‘staunch’ Man Utd fan even though he was born and bred in Sheels. I have been to Old Trafford more than him (mind you, anyone that has gone once would have that ‘honour’....). Always been beyond me.
