Which fans do you respect the most?

A lot of mag fans are 1992 ers and their little run of league success gave the fuckers a sense of entitlement that they cannot shake off, hence the continuing circus that surrounds them. They dynamic of their support has completely changed from the 60's and 70's.
Arrogance personified now ! Arseholes

Why not, if you were born and brought up within the Newcastle area, and your family had supporting them

I suspect ( whisper it quietly) you would be supporting Newcastle!

So if they had not done the above they would respect them?

Maybe most my family does support them and I don’t? Full marks for assuming everything incorrectly there.

Yeah fair enough, I wasn’t making a assumption, just making more of a general point, that if you brought up in that area and your family and friends supports that club, I think you deserve more respect for supporting that club, than whoever is successful or fashionable at the time.

I think that’s a fair enough point.

I always ask a ‘supporter’ the question about their last game, how often they go etc. If they don’t go to matches I stop listening.

By the way: I stopped going to matches some time ago myself so I very rarely ask the question above as I have no right to anything but a shallow opinion on the team I follow anyway.

The mistake you're making is that you're trying to lump everyone together which doesn't work.

How can you respect people who dress up as members of the clergy and carry coffins around the city?

But they're different to the thousands of decent supporters who just support their club.

Most of the disrespect, on here, comes from having to tolerate absolute wankers, like Benjamin, who come on here spouting endless anti-Sunderland shite.

Decent people like @Sombrero and @Biffo The Bear get enormous respect from me and other people.

Hope that's put your mind at rest and ended your worries.

Yes. What’s that got to do with the original question though? They don’t get stick just for supporting their local club.

Yeah that’s fair enough, gone at bit of track anyway, was just trying to make the main point that I respect local Newcastle fans more than London fans supporting Man United because fashionable and successful.

Well yeah fair enough, of course cant dispute any of that, like I say the original point I was making is getting diluted now.

I think you know the general point I was making.

Do you not think every club has their fair share of embrassing wankers?

Not every club comes on here spouting shite and earning disrespect.

Do they?

You're original was point was clear, now you're backtracking.

Just be honest man you've come on to defend Mags, no harm in that.

The Mags became fashionable in 1992. I don’t think it takes much effort to support a ‘local’ team that signed players like Shearer, Owen & Ginola, nearly won the Premier League, played in the Champions league and has played in the top tier for the best part of 25 years.

Yep that was the point of my thread tbh.

Surely a Newcastle fan who was born in that area and has supported them all his life, deserves a lot more respect than a fan supporting whoever is fashionable or successful?

I see your point but "a newcastle fan" steady on eh. Got to draw a line somewhere

Yep that’s what I am saying I would respect local lad supporting them who’s family had supported them for generations rather than someone from outside the area supporting them just becuase they became fashionable.

Would you respect a Mag who's changed sides when Newcastle started doing well?

Would you respect a Mag who's born closer to Sunderland, with Sunderland folks, who goes because they're in the Champions League?

Just asking.

Fair enough don’t mind backtracking mate, as I am not doing it to score points.

Just to open up a debate.

I more defending local fans of any club and like one poster said you normally support who your dad/ grandad supported.

And if that was Newcastle nowt wrong with that.

No, but is that a trick question :D?

I don’t know a Newcastle fan/supporter that doesn’t go on like a compete balloon knot, family included. Local or not I have no respect for any of them and never will.

That's not all you were doing though.

If you're being honest you were criticising Sunderland posters for disrespecting decent Newcastle supporters.

I think you've been proved categorically wrong and are now smokescreening tbh.
