Which fans do you respect the most?

Not really can’t understand criticism of Newcastle fans for simply supporting the club that has been part of their upbringing and local area.

Yeah I thought that was the point of your question, don't know why you couldn't just spit it out tbh.

I haven't seen any of what you're describing, are you talking about this board ... can you give an example?

Most of my better friends are proper footy fans. By that I mean they've always supported teams like
Fulham
Mansfield
Hereford
Aldershot
It’s great to chat football to them. Rather than the usual Man Utd and Liverpool know it alls

Spot on mate. I know a bloke who was born and raised in Northampton, but who’s lived in London since he was 15,.... he’s 58 now.... and goes home and away to follow the Cobblers year in and year out. Talking to him about football is really rewarding! Much rather be in his company than some other glory hunters I can think of.

You have never seen any criticism of Newcastle fans on this board?

The mag lad next to me at work is more negative about newcastle than any mackem there. He has the more fervant types absolutely foaming. He's a ST holder anarl but appears to hate the fuckers  apart from rondon

They tell you some fanciful story about an uncle who took them to Old Trafford.
Forgetting to tell you that their parents were Villa daft.

:lol: I know a lad who has lived in the Oxford area all his life who supports Man U because his parents were evacuated to Manchester for three months during the war in 1941!

I'd say that if the fans of the really big clubs live well outside the catchment area of any decent side, then I'll forgive them more readily than if they live in a town with a decent team. For instance people who live in Wigan, but support Liverpool, or either of the Manchester teams.

Absolutely none for just supporting their team as you've claimed.

As you've posted a thread, on the subject, you must have noticed something ... hoy it up and people can comment.

I am always a little confused the general dislike and comments towards a fan base supporting their local team.

I suspect you know that but picking up on words and taking them too literally.

Maybe I should have worded it more carefully.

I know the parents of a girl (early 20’s) who has been travelling to Ebbsfleet games on the supporters coach to almost every game since she was old enough for them to let her (so getting on for 10 years).

I also know a bloke in his early 50’s with cerebral palsy who has been going to almost every Dartford away game on the train for most of his life.

Got to respect folk like that. And every club has them.

From what I can see the lack of respect comes from things like how they smashed up our seats at a reserve game, joined up with Shrewsbury to attack Sunderland people, etc ... surely that's fairly simple to understand and quite logical.

Wouldn't you agree?

Of course.

Any fair and decent human would say the above was out of order.

So that's the answer to your OP.

People on here don't disrespect decent Newcastle people for supporting their club.

They do disrespect bellends who invade the pitch at friendlies, smash up their town, attack the police and throw missiles at them.

Case closed :D

Respect Newcastle fans

Why not, if you were born and brought up within the Newcastle area, and your family had supporting them

I suspect ( whisper it quietly) you would be supporting Newcastle!

So if they had not done the above they would respect them?

They don’t get negative comments for just supporting their local team though. They get those negative comments because a lot of them are embarrassing wankers - imo of course.
