f***ing mental if you ask me!

On the topic of mental.... I work with an Everton fan who could not bear the thought of watching the derby game in the bar here in Kazakhstan. He flew out the day before and back the day after. 3 days lost wages and a 1500 quid flight.
:lol: Different breed them scousers mate. Especially the blue ones.

When someone tells me they support Man Utd and they are from the Midlands, London etc... I immediately stop listening to what they are saying.

Lad next door to me in Finchley (Norf Laaaahndon) is a S/T holder at Old Trafford and travels all ower with them. Would you stop listening to him?

They took 30,000 all that way? Why that’s more than 12 minutes stuck on a coach from Ibrox if the traffic’s bad.

Actually, it's more like 18 minutes (and that's if the lights are green on Victoria Road!!!)

To be serious, in a hypothetical, similar situation, how many do you think Sunderland would take to Gateshead?

You mean if we actually had to travel outside our own city and not to a large stadium which is just as easy and in a lot of cases easier than a home match for our fans to get to? I wouldn't like to guess.

I can hazard a guess and say it wouldn't be 30,000.

But, really, TBH, I actually don't give a f*ck how many you think Sunderland would take away from home. I'm sure the red and white army would turn up in their thousands (being that they are a fantastic and loyal group of supporters). My point is (and keeping with the theme of this thread), in my opinion, the Rangers support (a group of fans who were used to winning trophies on an annual basis) deserve a lot of credit for not deserting their club when they effectively saw their team wiped out and have to start from scratch. There are several examples of teams who have gone through barren spells and their fans did not continue to turn up in their tens of thousands. I happen to think the Rangers support deserve acknowledgement for that.

It wouldn’t? Now let me think when did we last take well over 30,000 to a game not only outside our city but about 230 miles away? Oh that’s right it was two weeks ago, to watch us play for a trophy some call tin pot.

Btw mate I wouldn’t seriously question Rangers support just the example the lad gave probably wasn’t quite as awe inspiring as I think he intended.

I live in Hartlepool. I am mates with the lad who organises a coach to their away games and he is a member of a small group who go to every Pools game and I mean every game. He also goes to every England game home and away and makes sure his three sons do too.
He organises the fancy dress last game trip for hundreds that gets national publicity for the club( this year they are Crusaders)
His coach has a guitar player at the front and sing songs are the order of the day.
I respect him and all the lads who travel with him.

Barren spells usually mean months/years of losing almost every week and all teams lose fans when that happens. If they had gone down and didn't win for years they would lose fans as well.

They basically just kept winning every week anyway and we've seen this year the difference between winning every week and losing every week.
