That’s not what we criticise them for.

My dad (83 yo) was through my brothers house in Gosforth last week in and he had his SAFC jacket on. He was waiting to turn right and a mag with his whole family in the car slowed down and wound his window down, gestured for my dad to do the same then proceeded to abuse him verbally. I live in Whitley Bay and regularly get comments from mag strangers when I’ve got anything SAFC related on. I criticise Mags not because they support their home town club but because my experience of most of them is that, when it comes to SAFC, they are all utter dickheads.

I don’t think anyone would argue with that in anyway, although I would assume fans of all clubs including ours have good and bad fans.

Wouldn't expect anything less from Reiver like, for a grown bloke he likes to get into a lot of daft petty arguments.

Likes regaling war stories from years gone by in the hooligan days but throws a hissy fit when a Portsmouth fan looks at him funny.

Very strange

I've come to the opinion that it's one rule for him and another rule for everyone else, I do have a laugh reading his posts though. Reminds me of a daft mate of mine who can never be wrong about anything

Well yeah, guess you learning all the time on here, got embroiled with it yesterday when should have known better.

And I always love the “I’ve supported them my whole life” to try and justify it.
They’ve been winning pretty much their whole lives.

There’s a lad I know from Newcastle (cramlington actually) but he support Liverpool. Unless the mags are doing well then he’s a “proud Geordie” they’re the worst kind.... them and Durham mags
When my daughter (no) lived in Hollinside the wanker next door wore a stinking manu top all the time unless the shits won when he wore one of theirs .

So let me get this right.

I came onto a thread, posted my opinions and made a contribution to the thread.

You've come on specifically to have a pop at me, posted no opinions or made any contribution to the thread.

But somehow you've convinced yourself you're not after a daft petty argument

I always had you down as a bit snide but you've excelled yourself with your latest dose of laughable hypocrisy...

... I reckon your mate was probably right.

It's an auto reaction.....totally agree with this. You just switch off completely......blah blah blah. Like the teacher on Charlie brown.

When you know the only 'info' they have is from Sky & MOTD you know you've heard it all before.

Mention Sunderland and they know nothing and don't want to know anything, fine by me.

I never mention who I support because I don't want to hear the views of Sunderland from a Cockney Liverpool supporter.

"Does Borini still play for you lot."

Haway man, you posted a thread asking for praise for Newcastle supporters and criticising Sunderland supporters, on a Sunderland forum, but you didn't want to get embroiled.

If that's true you really do have a lot to learn ;)

My opinion is that the best fans are the ones who support their local team and know their teams capabilities and limits.

Fans who spout shite just because it is their team are the worst kind, every club has this element of fans.

I don't like fans who think they are Mr Sunderland, Mr Newcastle, Mr Portsmouth or Mr whatever team they support.

Anyone who tries to be an uber fan is trying to hard and make my skin crawl, cringey little barstwewards them ones are.

I have you down as an argumentative petty grumpy old man who gets upset when someone disagrees with him and will go to any length to try and win an argument, no matter how tedious the topic.

Despite all this you are entitled to you opinion as is everyone else on here, it wouldn't be a forum without it.

Like I said your posts are entertaining and all too familiar, it wouldn't surprise me if you were related to my mate! The likeness is uncanny

In which case you'd be entirely incorrect as the many people I know, on here, would confirm. I'm relentlessly optimistic, enthusiastic and chirpy.

I couldn't be more chipper or content with my life, I love being me.

As for always thinking I'm right, of course I do .... you're exactly the same, we all are.

You believe every opinion you hold is correct otherwise you'd change them.

The OP said he couldn't understand the criticism of decent ordinary Newcastle supporters from Sunderland supporters.

I simply asked him to provide a shred of proof for his accusation.

Where was I wrong to ask that? (He failed btw, so, in this case, I was right ;) )

Some people can’t or refuse to see the woods for the trees with Sunderland I’m afraid.

Whoever we sign are going to do the business, the next manager is the new messiah, awful showing on the pitch still have people convinced we will win the next game etc.

The fact is we all want what’s in the above paragraph, it goes without saying but I prefer to discuss objectively rather than simply posting what I hope.

Easiest thing in world to proclaim everything will be rosy then when pulled up come out with the well worn ‘I was only wanting the best for my club, what a bastard ey’ line.

It's a shame that the people who can actually have a realistic debate on here are often the ones called mags, simply because they are not biased and blinded by who they support.

I prefer to speak to people who can see the flaws in their team and talk about who & what excites them and why, rather than those who just say they will win every game and shout down those who dare to disagree, calling them out as lesser supporters. It's childish bordering on idiocy but these will be the fans with the lower IQ's, like I said before every club has this element.

Hank Williams, the resident drunkard, is convinced Sunderland will win no matter who they play, it is funny but I couldn't imagine ever getting into a serious conversation with him about football because I have no doubt he would speak utter garbage.

The amount of fans around me at Wembley who made what I consider to be absolutely mental comments was unbelievable.

But that's football, it's a game of opinions and the people at the club are paid to make those decisions, what ever people in the stands or on here say or think is irrelevant, ourselves included.

I would like to see less hatred and vitriol aimed at other clubs fans on here, the compulsory fuck off from the first person to respond is funny but anything after that and it wears thin.

The majority of people on here will defend their team in the face of anything, Adam Johnson had his own contingent of fans sticking by him for a long time.

It's crazy that football can make people defend things they would never do in any other walk of life, I prefer to stay impartial.

I thought I posted a thread comparing Newcastle fans with Man United fans from a certain part of the country at least that is how I read it at the top of the thread.

"Not really can’t understand criticism of Newcastle fans for simply supporting the club that has been part of their upbringing and local area."

I asked you where the proof was for that accusation .... you still haven't provided any.

You've come on here whinging about Sunderland supporters, for committing this heinous crime, but seem unable to back up what you've said.

If you're calling people out you should have the wherewithal to provide good cause.

You have just said I posted a thread criticising Sunderland supporters when Sunderland supporters was not even mentioned in that opening post.

I could be childish and copy your post alongside my opening post to prove you wrong, just like you are doing, but that would be childish and petty just like you!

Where in my opening post have I mentioned Sunderland supporters?

I can keep copy and pasting it in every post if you want

Your OP was the prelude but you actually said what I've just quoted.

You may wish to squirm out of it by claiming it was a subsequent post, and not the actual OP, but these are your words.

You seem to be unwilling to stand up for what you've said which is quite cowardly imo.

FFS be a man and stand up for what you've said, provide some proof or just admit that what you claimed was wrong.
