Where's Huggins?

some seem to be missing the fact he came in, after a year out, obviously rusty if not injured, and played a blinder when we won away just before the world cup. Birmingham was it?

The club look to be planning long term for him to return and not keep getting niggles that prevent him playing, which sounds sensible.

Give the lad a chance eh?
He looked good in that match. Can clearly play but fitness is a massive issue

It baffles me how much hope people have for the lad. I'm sure he's a talent but we have seen so little of him.

Hes played about 5 first team games in his entire career, and he will be 24 by the end of next year.

For context Dan Neil is younger than him and played nearly 100 games. Embleton a year older and has played well over 100 games.

Experience in adult first team football is so valuable and he has so little of it at an age where successful players his age will have gained a base of experience to build on.

There are always late bloomers who are the exceptions to the rule and obviously I'm rooting for him to succeed but there's a lot of hope being invested in him with not much to go on.

From what we did see, he has that ability to dribble with the ball close to his feet and just float past players at jogging pace. He's just a natural footballer, rather than a pace merchant like Denver Hume. I think that's why he's getting more leeway

Been a real disappointment for Portsmouth apparently, certainly not worth the £200k according to them.

Played a blinder? Why do people just make stuff up like that? He was probably the worst player on the pitch for either team in the first half. Was fine second half but saying he had a blinder couldn’t be further from the truth.

No one’s writing him off or not giving him a chance but let’s not just make outright lies up about his performances.

I live near leeds so went to 21s game. Huggins played well showing pace and close control. Probably best on pitch. Only ever going to play first half, not replaced injured.

Its the desire to see him succeed and expectation that is inflating people's view on him. Theres just so little to go on

24?!
Good grief.
Might as well bring out the white tent and shoot him between the eyes
Of course its not old, but he hasn't played anywhere near enough games for his age which will hurt his longer term development, and means we dont have a good idea of where he really is as a player, and what his ceiling could be.

True enough. Hopefully he'll come out swinging and be a natural at this level and can hopefully push on to greater heights.
But, as you say, if he's not playing, that's not likely to happen

Between him, hume, cirken and Alese, Huggins has looked the most potential to fulfill the role of attacking full back - the fact he can play both sides is a huge benefit to us.
Hume is the best defender, Cirken the best all rounder, Alese i think will be a better CB for us.
Shame the lad just cant stay fit right now

Alese has good attacking movement but falls to pieces with his final touch
