The story goes we just happened to be shite and didn't sell out a lot. Not sure what the point of it is. But I started going in 91 and I can remember 2 sell outs v man utd 2v Newcastle. Didn't go to the cup games in 92 55at a guess I'd say the quarter final would of been. Derby promotion season was. Boro home in premier league won't of been far off. Everton last ever game.I reckon there was probably 50odd sell outs in his 20 stretch. f***ing hell I've just picked 5 without thinking. Spurs fa cup where we all to a man racially abused SOL campbell
Yeah what story's that?
In Houghton their main sport is Lacrosse.
I have personally spoke to 42,000 that were in a crowd of 8,000 for a night match
I know somebody who has only attended one game and that was it. Mates girlfriend (now his wife). He took her once and she didn't want to go back.It you mean the Plymouth match add another one to the list.
Off the top of my head. The Liverpool league match 1990/91 was easily full with plenty locked out. Same year there was 25,000 there against Man Utd.
Coventry in the League Cup may have been full. Remember queuing at the Clock Stand and the gates shutting, so ran round to the Fulwell and got in.
Chelsea cup quarter final. Not sure if this was full but probably. Didn't have the same problems getting in as the Coventry match.
Newcastle play offs full. Don't think the league match that same season sold out.
I was at the West Ham match 1979/80, obviously full.
Can't remember many more.
You no f***ing brains mate?
What don't you understand about very rarely sold out in a 20 year period in a conversation about SAFC's ability/inability to fill a ground at Roker Park?
Portsmouth.

Mags, Man Utd, Derby (Boxing Day), Everton will have been in the last season.
Mebbes the game we lifted the league the year before. And Man Utd in the cup.
That Portsmouth game wouldn't have sold out even though they had millions of fans there.
They were all in their day jobs scrating round for dorty fag butts and piss filled cans of larger to drink while reading the old dirty mags behind the public toiletsGenuine question. Were they people just not that interested in football before Sky and Keegan sexed it up for them, or were there loads of traitors from around the North East that defected?
It's hard to say as it was cash turnstiles and the club used to pocket loads to save on tax.
We used to laugh at some of the gates they announced.
Pretty sure Ive got a Fulwell End ticket stub for it
they remember when their team used to play in red kits with sharpe on the front and schmeicel was their goally. before Jardine gets in, we have a few of the same mind!Genuine question. Ok I'll rephrase it. We didn't sell out in the last season for several games and pointed out in another post that it was probably down to kids etc being more interested with the new stadium.Yes we could sell out Roker Park that's a daft thing to say. You've also got to think large parts of the ground were standing only. Many women and kids wouldn't fancy standing all game.
Mate no offence but werent you about 18 in the last season at Roker or am I on the wrong horse?Pretty sure Ive got a Fulwell End ticket stub for it
Stop biting son, making yoursell look like a proper titSo you never mention my attendance? I'm not there on Saturday actually. I take it super fan eddie hitler is though as football still a relatively new concept to him since he Only started following football once we got a new stadium! No Shame in it as I've already said Bonny lad. There's thousands like you.
I think we all know the one who's biting here Bonny lad.Stop biting son, making yoursell look like a proper tit
