Where are the goals coming from?

Not many serious answers.

Pritchard 10 in 5 seasons
Evans 9 in 10 seasons

Clearly these two are unlikely to contribute many.

Maybe O’Nien, Neil and Embleton could manage 6-8 each from midfield and Stewart will hopefully score 10+.

After that it seems to me to be wishful thinking that other players on our books can dramatically improve their goal scoring.

Hull - Wilks 19, Magennis 17, Lewis Potter 13

P’Boro - Harris 31, Smozdics 15, Dembele 11

Maybe not 20, but 3 or 4 players getting at least 13 each, we havent got one.
We certainly need to improve but McGeady and Gooch will weigh in hopefully, both are worth 10-12 in a good season. I think Stewart could get 15 or so but we’ll need others like O’Nien, Embleton, Pritchard to contribute and be defensively sound which could be a challenge with no fullbacks!

Maybe the board realise they should have sacked LJ at the end of the season and are intentionally making recruitment difficult so he walks and they don't have to pay any severence.

no chance this squad will get promoted. Recruitment and pres-season a mess again,

I don't think we'll be sacking Johnson after 15 games and we're about 12th in the league either - think this season will be another write off - and we'll be told we need to give the young lads time......
Once the fans go against the manager, he's gone, irrespective of what the owners want.
It gets too toxic.
Johnson will not see in 2022 at the club.

Mid to lower half of table that's what to expect with a wafer thin squad, no goals, injuries, poor form, all these things will hit us hard.

I could see Stewart, McGeady and Gooch scoring 10+ each this season.
Due to Wyke’s lack of movement and intelligence last season, the rest of the team didn’t have much space to run into in the final third.

Just can’t see how that gets us to the magic 80.

Had I of known this would of been our approach to this season I wouldn’t of renewed the season tickets. It’s a shambles. 8 days till we play Wigan ffs.

We don’t need many to score goals in quantities they’ve never scored before. We need 2 players to get into double figures and a further 4 to get at least 5. We’ve got players who are capable of that. We need more but the key is to be an attacking team and to get goals from many different players across the squad.

Nonsense.
By lad you have a lot of faith and it’s quite refreshing tbh. I’m not doom and gloom because by the end of August I’m sure things will look a lot healthier but best front six in the division haway man?

We scored 70 league goals last season and it wasn’t enough. 48 of those goals were scored by players who have now left the club.

How are we going to replace that lost output? Which players are suddenly going to start scoring goals in quantities they have never managed before?

We're not.

Going off career stats, the best hope we have of a player even reaching double figures is Will Grigg. Whose time with us so far suggests maybe 5 or 6 league goals for us over a full amount of league games. But I do like the look of Stewart and certainly think he's capeable of around 15, even though I know that'd mean him having his best scoring season.
