Where are our signings

I think we have a few already sorted in principle, would be very surprised if not more or less tied down to contracts.

We are desperate for quality this season, we will see the clubs intentions soon, hope they have learned a lesson from last seasons transfer debacle.

fingers crossed they get sorted soon to stop more f***ing threads like this :lol:

Well, there's still time but we've got a fair bit of work to do before we're even up to last seasons standard and they nearly got us relegated.
Solid players like Bardsley and Colback are taken for granted till you try and replace them.

In my opinion the core of our team has been weakened and that's a major concern if this years bigger loans aren't as successful as last seasons. I'm not sure if there's enough left in the core squad to pull us through in that scenario.
Either way, my gut feeling is we'll be scraping around the bargain basement again and trying to pass off a couple of foreign fancynames as big signings. Sooner or later our luck will run out, we're on Death Row.

Really, youre really making this shit point
To go with your shit thread probably.

Yeah yeah yeah im a bed wetter blah blah blah.

A third of July gone and not a sniff of any major signing despite a horrendous season last year in the league. So the club are determined to fuck another pre season up it seems. Its all well and good saying we have to be patient but bringing players in August with the season 2 weeks away is shit preparation.

All we hear about during the season is preparing for the next game, tactics etc. Yet it appears ok to sign players 2 weeks before or when the season has begun.

There were very few teams weaker than us last season, get this window wrong and itll be curtains.
Our fiscal year ends July 31st. Wait and a new rolling 3 years are in play FFP rules. 1st week of August we will hear about some new signings with the later end of August most of are business will be done.

I won't worry until we hit august. It is very quiet mind, but the 3 signings we have made have been very under the radar anyway

We've lost a couple of solid/reliable first team players. We've also lost 2/3 of what i consider to be successful loan players. So that makes at least 4/5 players who made a positive contribution that need to be replaced before we're even standing still.
Going by past performances in the transfer/loan market how many players do we have to sign to get 5 good ones??:) Even with my extremely optimistic head on i'd say eight players just to find 5 good ones and if you go by previous experience it's more like 20.:):)

Next up is improvements on last year which i think will only be possible by spending quite big on 2/3 players.

The foot stamping has officially begun.

The tantrum is going to be in full swing by the end of the week as people refuse to acknowledge that the world cup delays transfers, most signings made so far have been poor value or that there is still plenty time.

Haven't you already signed half of them? You have plenty of time left to get 2 or 3 more in.

We needed ours in early because we start early in Europe.

Given our squad at present and how many left/aren't good enough I expect another 5/6 in.

You're right, there's still plenty of time, the children are just impatient and they want it NOW.

A JONESY SAYS DONT PANICK DONT PANICK ....

here man...

Only three players on the String List: Felipe Santana (range of Rennes), Christian Fuchs (requests from Bordeaux, Palermo, Sunderland) and Tranquillo Barnetta will still go.

Is this lad any good?.....an indication we're struggling to get Alonso? Two left backs would surely be too much to ask?

Yep. And since then we have lost 13 players, including every left back on the books, arguably our player of the season in Borini, an important defender in Vergini, and two regular starters in midfield in Ki and Colback.

The only signings we have made have been a keeper (arguably no better than the one we had), a right back (probably about on a par with the one we had), and a 29 year old midfielder from the Championship on a free.

There are five weeks to go until the start of the season and we are way behind having the squad that we had that even finished 14th.

We have not got a left back on the books, our only central defenders are either in their mid-30s or are utter gash, there is no sign of any new signings on the horizon, even though clubs are back for pre-season, and indeed it looks highly likely that the next moves will be out (ie Scocco and Graham).

Meanwhile the local club mouhpiece in the press is still talking about the need to cut costs abnd get rid of deadwood.

Of course things can change quickly - I hope they do - but at present it appears like we are hoping that things will fall into place, when there are plenty of signals to suggest we won't get Alonso, and we won't get Borini.

Of course we don't know what is going on behind the scenes, but right now there is every reason to be concerned - and that will remain the case until we can honestly say the squad is better than the one that somehow avoided relegation. Currently, we are about 4 players short of even that squad.

Well Said, needed to be put out there. all facts and a little intuition
