Where are our signings

What a pansey.

You can't just pick a player you want and get him, that's not how it works.

Assuming Borini is our number 1 target - Liverpool won't sell until they have players in for his position. At the moment they might not have the finances free to buy a replacement so they have to wait for Suarez to leave. Then the player they want (Origi) has been on international duty so he will be away having a break while Liverpool agree a fee with his club and then start talks. then we have to agree a fee with Liverpool. Then Borini might want a bit of time to think things through. If it all goes well, we get Borini. If not then the process goes again with our second choice target.

Would you rather we paid stupid money to get people here instantly or move on to our back up targets and so in if we don't get a deal sorted out in a week?

The spenk also doesn't realise that in a World Cup / tournament pre-season everything tends to be set back a month.

Still reasonably early days but at present we are a long way behind the side that struggled for large parts of last season. The signings so far take us no further forward and in the case of Gomez it's backwards as he not in ki league.

@Banks do you think signing the right players is like playing Champ Man 93 all done in a day ? Fuck me no one has really done owt in the transfer market yet ... Oh wait West Brom have signed Chris Baird on a free lets all shit owa'sels

No but wheres the ambition?

We scraped survival, anyone who says otherwise is a liar. We aren't going to be top of the queue when competing for players so we should have done "some" business early.

We are desperate for numbers, leaving it till after the world cup is going to see us pay through the roof as clubs know we are desperate.

On the 'team that struggled last season' argument, people would do well to remember that we were managed by a lunatic for nigh on a fifth of the season, the ramifications of which hampered us for a significant period post departure.

It isn't without merit though, we do need an injection of genuine quality.

1 point from 8 was terrible if we had gus and say won an extra 5 points in them games we would of been easily safe that's how I see it we need numbers and quality though yes

I'm on the fence with the OP's comment. I would have liked to be linked a bit more heavily with some decent players at this moment in time. When you look at a lot of the teams naff all has been done really so there isn't a need to panic. Come the end of July i would be a bit more nervous if we're in the same position i guess. Like others have rightly said, it takes time to get deals done.

It doesn't really matter when we sign them, it's who we sign. Last season we signed them left right and centre, under Bruce in his last preseason we had most them tied up before we came back for preseason training. Naturally we're all concerned that we get players of reasonable quality in but it doesn't really matter when, just as long as they're in.

As usual most deals will happen in the two weeks before the window closes, nothing we do will change that.

We should have done some business early, yet you also say we aren't going to be top of the queue when competing for players? Why then would a decent player, club or agent be chomping at the bit to sign for us?
