Anybody know?

We are in real bother if both him and Bramble are out over the next few weeks.

Dislocated shoulder aye?

I'm sure he could play with pain killing injections or something.

He would come back as a Zombie to play for us, like, no doubting his willingness to take something for the pain, but wheter he'll be advised as to this being a good course of action-which it might not be-is a different matter.

Always a first choice if fit.

How are we in real bother? We managed without him last night and the defensive partnership will get better with more games. I'm not a fan of Ferdinand and he wasn't great last night but he was far from shocking and for the first time in as long as I can remember we have enough strength in depth to cope with this kind of situation.

Obviously if we lose every game from now until Bramble or Mensah returns feel free to tell me how wrong I was but until then I won't be losing any sleep over the injuries.

We did? We let in 2, had 2 cleared off the line, and Beckford blazed over from a golden opportunity.

Aye, we did. All the things you mention didn't count at the end of the day. Bramble playing doesn't equate to the opposition having no shots, or no goals conceded, or no balls being cleared off the line. Spurs were more dangerous than Everton last night in terms of chances created, and that was with Bramble playing.

Bramble has been excellent for us but that's not to say we're doomed without him. Ferdinand was doing fine before he got injured, and he did alright last night as well, perfectly acceptable stand in.

Ok, maybe I should have said we managed not to get beat! ;) The defence had a couple of dodgy moments but didn't look horrendous. Looking at the games we have coming up I'm not overly worried by the prospect of Ferdinand playing as I think he'll improve from last night and provide steady enough cover until Mensah or Bramble are fit.

Biggest problem last night was Gordon coming out and flapping at anything in the air.Not his fault, more a lack of confidence in his centre halfs yet again as shown by the first goal.Lack of communication from another partnership.

Well, ignoring the fact that Spurs are a lot better than Everton, I can't really think of many clearcut chances that Spurs had. Whereas Everton scored twice, had two cleared off the line, and had Beckford through on goal by himself (luckily he's shit).

Defensively we were miles better against Spurs.

The man's a beast. He played an hour of a game when the injury occured and was visibly in pain as whenever he made a challenge he had to go down for treatment but kept on getting back up and playing on until Bruce eventually said enough is enough and substituted him. I'm sure he'd definitely be willing to play using pain killing injections but it looks like that's not an option:

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce said: "We are doing more tests on him. We fear he dislocated his shoulder against Stoke.

"We're still seeing how he is, although we don't think he's going to be operated on. It's still going to be another three weeks."

That quote is from yesterday.

I thought we looked awful. A long, straight ball which shuold have been dealt with, somehow managed to get between the two centre backs for Beckford to run on to. Cahill's lob cleared off the line was the result of someone (Anton I think) just ignoring the ball and letting Cahill in behind him.

I also lost count of how many clearances were sliced up into the air. I thought we looked half asleep and slow to react to everything.

Hope Mensah is fit soon. Not sure how long a dislocation takes to get over.

But there are a few options. Another one would be Nedum as centre back. From Left to Right

Rico Turner Onuaha Bardsley.

I think in hindsight we could have done with Da Silva last night, he may have added some much needed calm when it came to passing the ball out from the back four as Ferdinand and Turner seemed to be doing Johnny Wilkinson impressions all game.
