I remember watching the 1969 League Cup Final and dancing a jig of joy around the living room (My mam thought I’d been watching Everton win!!Proper footballing man this fella.
I've only been to Tranmere once back in the 90's.
Friday night game If I remember correctly, we packed out the Kop, had others in the home end and also more pitch side.
As we do.
We have a real hardcore passionate fanbase.
The potential is big, growing Town, catchment area etc.
Just get saddled with wrong uns that blame each other and never come clean.
Lets hope it changes.
I remember watching the 1969 League Cup Final and dancing a jig of joy around the living room (My mam thought I’d been watching Everton win!!) as Swindon Town beat the Arsenal at Wembley!! I’ve always loved it when the underdog gives the favourites a “touch up” like that one! Don Rogers! You ripper!!!!!!!
Hey Swindon On Tour! You’re one up on me, Colleague! I’ve been waiting since 1960 to see Everton win the League Cup!
Keep the faith!!!! You’re what football is (or damn well SHOULD be) all about!!
Big respect!️

Fantastic following again as per usual but unfortunately another chastening afternoon on the football pitch and a desperately disappointing result. It hurts.
1200 away fans, sell out again to watch a club that has kids on the bench.
Something just not right. No accounts forthcoming and the clubs owners a disgrace.
You talk about your fans, righty so but so much easier supporting a team with potential.
This Club of mind for near on 10 years now being fleeced by wrong uns.
Pre match beers as always excellent.
First Class Support, Second Class Team, Scum 3rd Class Owners.
Cracking result for you. Envious️
awww thank you my friend for that lovely post! Sunderland were always a "big club" in my eyes! I always caught up with them whenever they played LiVARpoo at anfield. (I used to attend games with my beloved Uncle Chas, a dyed in the wool Reds fan)Davey marra I was born about 15 years too late for the 1969 final.
But I love to hear the stories of old,
I've heard plenty from my old man who attended every single game in our winning 1973 FA cup run. I'm sure he leaves the snarly bits out but what I do is him and the boys use to hitchhike from County Durham following Sunderland all over the country...and once ended up in France. Yeah work that one out.
You sir are a credit to Everton football club and are a gent much like Swindon on Tour.
Keep the good old times alive.
Mate we all empathise with you.It hurts.

GREAT comments pal! SOME things definitely transcend "mere football results"....... without giving you all "chapter and verse" about my life, I had a wee bit of bad luck financially when we first arrived here in Melbourne, when a Building Society collapse hit us HARD. A bloke at work (who meant well I'm sure) kept going on and on and on about what a disaster it was, and how I should (quote) "take a 12 gauge and blow a few counter clerks away"Keep the faith fella.
Those away days with your lad are pure gold. Doing the same with my lad now 13 year old, win lose or draw who cares.
Did it with my old man who’s sadly no longer here, but those halcyon days will live with me forever.
See you in the Cup Final![]()
£7 per pint is unforgiveable, a disgrace.Home now.
Cracking support, today we were second best for 90 minutes.
Ffs going to have nightmares tonight of Uncle Bastard Bulgaria.
£7 a pint.
Being with my lad and Mates though still makes it special.
Maybe one day it will be our turn. The years though are passing by so fast and won’t be changing short term.
The Aussie Plumber over in January can only hope for selling the Club.
Very true; when I think of my time supporting SAFC - there are objectively very rare, and few & far between, moments to celebrate - but when they come along, they're so much better for that reason. I wouldn't trade the joy of eliminating Man Utd at Old Trafford for the routine winning of that trophy by Man City.Cracking lad Swindon
KTF mate
Most of the time its shite
We live for the odd moments
