When you know your Club is dying

Proper footballing man this fella.

I've only been to Tranmere once back in the 90's.

Friday night game If I remember correctly, we packed out the Kop, had others in the home end and also more pitch side.

As we do.
I remember watching the 1969 League Cup Final and dancing a jig of joy around the living room (My mam thought I’d been watching Everton win!! 🤣🤣🤣) as Swindon Town beat the Arsenal at Wembley!! I’ve always loved it when the underdog gives the favourites a “touch up” like that one! Don Rogers! You ripper!!!!!!!

Hey Swindon On Tour! You’re one up on me, Colleague! I’ve been waiting since 1960 to see Everton win the League Cup!

Keep the faith!!!! You’re what football is (or damn well SHOULD be) all about!!

Big respect! 💙⚪🔴

Davey marra I was born about 15 years too late for the 1969 final.

But I love to hear the stories of old,

I've heard plenty from my old man who attended every single game in our winning 1973 FA cup run. I'm sure he leaves the snarly bits out but what I do is him and the boys use to hitchhike from County Durham following Sunderland all over the country...and once ended up in France. Yeah work that one out. 😀

You sir are a credit to Everton football club and are a gent much like Swindon on Tour.

Keep the good old times alive.

It hurts.
1200 away fans, sell out again to watch a club that has kids on the bench.
Something just not right. No accounts forthcoming and the clubs owners a disgrace.

You talk about your fans, righty so but so much easier supporting a team with potential.
This Club of mind for near on 10 years now being fleeced by wrong uns.
Pre match beers as always excellent.

First Class Support, Second Class Team, Scum 3rd Class Owners.

Cracking result for you. Envious ⚽
Fantastic following again as per usual but unfortunately another chastening afternoon on the football pitch and a desperately disappointing result.

Bigger issues to contend with off the field and worrying times for you all but remember while managers, owners and players come and go, we, the fans, are the only constant and I know that you and your fellow supporters will never allow your beloved Swindon Town to die.

The fanbase, history and potential is there so let's hope that someone credible who has the club and community at heart with the means available to save the day and give you wonderful people a team to be proud of. It's the very least that you deserve my friend.

awww thank you my friend for that lovely post! Sunderland were always a "big club" in my eyes! I always caught up with them whenever they played LiVARpoo at anfield. (I used to attend games with my beloved Uncle Chas, a dyed in the wool Reds fan)

Mate we all empathise with you.
You and fans like you are the lifeblood of football in this country.
You certainly deserve a positive break.
Hope it comes soon.
👍

While I can sympathise, I can’t say I’ve ever thought we’d go under. I’ve considered it and it’s minging but I’ve never actually believed we would.

My best wishes mate, hope the club survives

Not really much more I can say

Come support us instead 😉

Keep the faith fella.

Those away days with your lad are pure gold. Doing the same with my lad now 13 year old, win lose or draw who cares.

Did it with my old man who’s sadly no longer here, but those halcyon days will live with me forever.

See you in the Cup Final 👌

GREAT comments pal! SOME things definitely transcend "mere football results"....... without giving you all "chapter and verse" about my life, I had a wee bit of bad luck financially when we first arrived here in Melbourne, when a Building Society collapse hit us HARD. A bloke at work (who meant well I'm sure) kept going on and on and on about what a disaster it was, and how I should (quote) "take a 12 gauge and blow a few counter clerks away":eek: He said "what's worse than losing your life's savings"? I said "losing my old man! I'd give every cent of that money, and consider it well spent, if it could give me ONE hour in me da's company"
Andyman: you're a good egg! thats great commonsense perspective you've shared me owld 'tater!!

Home now.
Cracking support, today we were second best for 90 minutes.
Ffs going to have nightmares tonight of Uncle Bastard Bulgaria.
£7 a pint.
Being with my lad and Mates though still makes it special.

Maybe one day it will be our turn. The years though are passing by so fast and won’t be changing short term.
The Aussie Plumber over in January can only hope for selling the Club.
£7 per pint is unforgiveable, a disgrace.
Cracking lad Swindon
KTF mate
Most of the time its shite
We live for the odd moments
Very true; when I think of my time supporting SAFC - there are objectively very rare, and few & far between, moments to celebrate - but when they come along, they're so much better for that reason. I wouldn't trade the joy of eliminating Man Utd at Old Trafford for the routine winning of that trophy by Man City.

Our friends in Newcastle will slowly come to terms with their fools gold in the same way.

Home from London by 8pm, can’t be bad 👍

Was at Banbury station at 7:07, most home games after 6.
Makes a change.
I'm pleased you know you can find some comfort amongst your kindred spirits on this board mate. Keep up the good fight 👍

This Board remains a comfort, seriously often like a therapy session.

When their 3rd went in I just stood, looked at my lad who just stood gazing out onto to pitch. The Mates mind were angry as were a few around us.
“The Club is fucked,” I said.
We can’t change nothing, we don’t have a squad. January will come and go, lose more players and desperately need 50 points.

No accounts, we have wrong uns as always around the Club. Starting to change.

Love the Club with a passion, crave just a few decent seasons, some hope instead it’s one kick in the bollocks time and time again.

The 4th followed straight after we walked out, the Wimbledon fans jeering to our right, head down and off into the London night.
Barrow home next week - We go again.😞
