When have you felt lower than this....

60 years in September since I first went to Roker, I honestly can say that this is the worst. We always had some hope, now it seems like no hope at all. Thanks yank, what more could we ever expect of a hedge fund manager.

I'd nivver even heard of talk sport but my jock marra reckoned they'd have the news first so I tuned in and listened at work for what seemed like years. Nee body would work near me as I wouldn't have any music on until the appointment.
I still remember exactly what I was doing when they broke the news.....erecting ready made bog cubicles in a Central London Community Centre. I staggered out into the main hall and apparently I'd turned white......the site agent (auld school spurs fan) thought I'd been electrocuted! I could barely get the news out of my mouth. My jock marra finally realised what had happened and told the site agent and said I'd better sit down. The site agent said "I think we'd all better sit down"!!!! So we did and had a cup of tea while listening to Talksport who couldn't believe it either.

It wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs from August onwards either marra!

Aye, it was shite but we thought Moyes could do the job, it seemed like he handled Koné etc.

Really since the January transfer window it's been nothing but shite news.

A fella has turned us down. So what. There could be a million and one reasons why he turned us down. People focus of the reasons that maybe the clubs fault.
Most clubs put feelers out before approaching a club especially if the club is hesitant ...........i cannot think of any recent appiontments af this kind where the target has turned them down once its been made official .......its well documented that mon, bsa and moyes have all turned down approaches by us in the past but that was done in the background and we never found out untill much later ..........i never thought it possible but bain has made us look an even bigger lauging stock and should resign....

When will people realise there is no money to recruit a decent team !Anybody we hire as manager will be doing it for the wage packet alone ............we qare going to tread water or worse for years ..i forsee a last payday manager on the cards ...walter smith or mcleish or the like .................

About a month ago when Moyes was still here.

McInnes not coming is a blip. It's not as though he was a sure fire success story, far from it.

... regarding SAFC? Not just after a game but the whole vibe around the club, Wilko appointment? Featherstone in charge? Being in the third division? After being so upbeat with McInnes seemingly in the bag to what I feel now, I thought the worst this season had to offer was that dreadful strip! What a f***ing mess, and we'll still have that strip...... I'm going to kip, night all
3rd Division.
Love the strip though

Behave ya big wuss

Agree with the latter two. I was underwhelmed when Knighton was made manager but to be fair he got us promoted & kept us up.
He didn't keep us up.
He got sacked and Micky Docherty saw us through to safety;)

It's not just McInnes not coming though marra. It's the fact that we've been turned down, most likely either because he couldn't get the assurances he needed from Short about the funds available for transfers,or the length of his contract if Short really is in talks to sell. This situation will be the same for anyone else we approach.....and that's the problem for me. Short just doesn't seem to realise what has to be done. To be fair to Bain,it probably isn't his fault.....he's discussing a deal, indicating things will be acceptable, but then having to go back to McInnes later to say Short won't agree. Short has to rubber stamp everything and it looks to me as though he just isn't prepared to do it. Why that is,I don't know. But we are running out of time.

I said to the lads on holiday last week sacking Moyes aside when was the last good news that came out the club?

Even the new home shirt is the worst we have ever had

I wish they would lock the gates and lob the key in the Wear

Hopefully while it's attached to concrete boots...on ellis!

If i'm honest i was angrier when Bain made his 'we're nearly bankrupt' announcement on the eve of the january window. This is just the continuation of that message. Not that I'm blaming Bain. Yet.
Still to this day I can't believe that.

Even more astonishing was the praise he received.

In my opinion it was another nail hammered home after Moyes' August doom announcement. It took what wind remained in the sails right out of the club and that was the end.

What were they thinking

He has been working on a shoestring at Aberdeen so to turn us down for that reason would seem odd?

Short maybe can/could only offer assurances for aslong as he is at the club which would suggest a takeover is on the cards. I personally would take a job knowing a take over is likely to be in the near future. Not many managers survive very long after a take over.

Oh i agree, the only thing that could possibly have changed is the craic around this takeover. I wouldnt join a club that is likely to be taken over because it is highly likely i will be on my arse not long after. Mcinnes may have assurances from Bain and Short but beyond that who knows

The lack of money doesnt make much sense either as he isnt given huge sums to spend at Aberdeen and seems happy with that situation there.

Sadly most managers are doing it for the money, Rafa aint at Newcastle for the love of the toon. He is getting paid 4mil a year reportedly.

Bottom of championship with Quinny looking lost on the sidelines acting as manager, coach, chairman, owner, cleaner, drain rodder and window cleaner.

Probably here. In fact I know it was here and it's starting to feel very similar...
