What's best to do on Saturday? - Drink wise

From memory the beer in the stadium was marginally cheaper than the beer outside, had the footy on, plenty of space and a good atmosphere. So if you’re around Wembley, actually going inside may be the best shout

Yeah. Remember it being about £4.20 for a Camden IPA / Helles inside the ground at the Pompey checkatrade game which is reasonable for any sports venue, let alone the National Footy Stadium in London.

Obviously it’ll be a bit more now but so will everywhere else.

I'm assuming our "Fan Zone" is outside London Designer Outlet with us having the West-side of the stadium. So probably dump our bags in the Premier Inn which is right beside there that we were lucky enough to book then have a few in our Fan Zone at about 11am all being well.

We've got tickets on Level 2 of Wembley so I don't mind heading into the ground early for a few pints and with it being my son's first visit he will be itching to get in.

Drinking afterwards is the bit I'm still trying to work out. Bing in football shirts and having a 7 year old with us might limit us, particularly if we headed into the centre of London. Got a feeling we won't particularly be welcome on a Saturday night in a lot of places.

Yeah, I was wondering what people will be doing on the Saturday night

Can’t drink on the streets unless you want to run the risk of a hefty fine I think?

Get yaself in the pubs and join the atmosphere.

Bag of cans from Tesco, bottle of pop and some crisps for the little one - Trafalgar Square will welcome you!

I enjoyed having a few cans and sitting on the bank down Wembley way, saw loads of folk that I knew walking up. Stayed there for an hour or so and had a few cans , taking in the atmosphere. Really enjoyed it.
Was great atmosphere at the top of Wembley way, loads of kids Singing songs and kicking a footy about. Best atmosphere from our lot on the day tbh (this was the Charlton game)

And a bin bag for all your rubbish - the stuff thrown on the floor last time was disgusting and proper scratter behaviour from our lot

What’s a good time to tell people to go to ground

I suggested Baker Street spoons then they are meeting mates at Swiss cottage. Which takes 30 mins to ground including walking

You wanna be getting in ground at 2…2:30? Or what?

They’re very keen to avoid like an airport lounge situation in the ground and wanna enjoy a can or too on Wembley way first

Any advice appreciated,
It’s Wembley
You want to be getting to Wembley station before 2 to sample the atmosphere. Walking out the station at Wembley Park is fab.
Be in the ground before 2.30 imo and in your seat. Spirit of 37 done stuff for a display, but also ‘wise men say’ to reverberate round Wembley at about quarter to - for the Pompey game probably about 50% of safc fans missed this and it was probably the highlight of the day.
More were in earlier for the Charlton game as that bit was spine tingling like.
Amazes me if there’s anyone that pays all the money to go to a Wembley final and just wants to booze and go in last minutes at 5 to 3.

Very good point mate to be fair. Was live n learn for me

Pint in ground at 2, in seat for 2:30 good shout

It's stressing me out thinking about travelling on the Saturday and i'm not even travelling on the Saturday :lol:
I have to leave Durham at 2pm to get to Sunderland in time for kick off to watch it in the pub. That's stressful enough.

Costs more than that in Sunderland.

It confused me at the Portsmouth game. I saw this proper bar and a smart fella with a blazer on the door. I actually checked with him that I was allowed in. Felt like a right idiot

I was in the "posh" level for the Charlton game. I also thought that I had wandered into the wrong area by mistake. It's more like a hotel lounge than a football stadium.

Also on the 2nd Tier this weekend so hopefully away from the riff-raff :)
