What would make cricket better

Should move the Emirates Riverside to a location in Newcastle. Which will improve local cricket immensely.

This would be a huge improvement to the game. I also like the suggestion someone said on here a while ago of having both Dukes and Kookaburras available to the fielding teams at the start of the innings.

so on the one hand you're saying the duke is the best ball out there and should be used the world over but also that the kookaburra should be available to any team that wins the toss anywhere in the world anarl?

I thought the reason for the Kookaburra was that is the pitches around the world were harder and the Duke ball didn't stand up well enough to the abrasive surfaces.

But I think that Australia has been doing some trials of the Duke ball, maybe in shield cricket and presumably last winter. I haven't heard anything about the outcome.

But, I think there should be a better and more consistent standard across the world with the balls, all should have a proud seam.

aye, they had been trialling the dukes in the shield, but assumed that was just so they can compete better against it when they play here rather than with a view to using it there?

Aye. But it sounds like it was a success and tilting the balance towards the bowlers a little produced more entertaining cricket, so I hope they continue.

I see how that came across, though that's not exactly what I meant, I do think the Duke is better, but some teams prefer the Kookaburra. So when fielding, a team should be able to choose which they use for that innings. If the other team wants to use the other type, that's up to them. Nothing at all to do with winning the toss.

Ah right, was going to say that would put far too much importance on the toss,I see.
