It's meant to be white, it's the pic I used that makes it look grey
I thought it might be meant to be white.

I've followed this thread over the last couple of days and two shirts have stood out pretty much, that nice blue one with red and white trim - loads of posters like that one (plus white shorts) and also a black one seems pretty popular with red or red and white trim (black shorts). How come we ended up with pale sick and a non entity maroon?

Probably fashion wear?

The colours of County Durham, blue and primrose. And the club should market it as such.

That's the problem with Quinny, he fell in love with the lass but doesn't know much about her background apart from the obvious, like we built ships and dug coal. Surgeon Hall filled his ground with his bollocks Geordie nation crap and giving people a sense of belonging. All Quinny does is bang on about a few dozen blokes watching the match in the pub and how he despises them.

Good point that.

He could play on the nostalgia for the old boys, "the colours of County Durham, where Sunderland has always been historically located, just like Gateshead, Hebburn, Jarra, South Shields, really get up the nose of the Tyneside press. Mebbes even get one or two of the younger ones interested in he areas history. And it would cost absolutely nowt.

it amazes me how a message board of football fans can come up with such good kit designs and make them relevant to the areas history etc, yet the people who make/design the kits come up with a cream and maroon one.

quinny should hand this one over to the people

This is where football switches off. The marketing and design people at Umbro have absolutely no idea what makes things tick in Sunderland. The people from SAFC walk in and say "give me what looks good in your eyes" rather than "give me what looks good and I can market with a story and get loads of free press and a few cheap shots to remind people where they come from and get loads of publicity for nowt"
