I'm to young to remember, was he all for himself and not interested or did he have some interest for the club, was he mates with the managers and staff or did he keep away from the football side.

For all his, faults as SAFC chairman, he was very pro Sunderland.
Bob Murray was very generous to him in his RR podcast.
He gave us the manager we craved and backed him, but sadly, the gamble failed.
Maybe if he'd backed Ashursts judgement and spent 70k on Aldridge, history may have been more favorable towards him.

First time I ever saw the Sunderland fans congregate after a match to protest at the state of the club and throw clemmies breaking windows in the Jimmy Montgomery suite/ similar.

He took out the players bath to save water installing showers and for at least one game gave the players packed lunches to save on pre match meals.

I remember me and my mates joking that in the packed lunches was probably a bottle of coke as long as it had 50% free.

No Aldi at the time. I bet cowie in the years to come was gutted.

Easy being wise with benefit of hindsight, but at the time, vast majority were owa the moon when he was apptd.
The scenes os RP when he turned up on a sunny early afternoon were tremendous.
At least TC tried to redeem himself after the previous few seasons when thrifty was the watchword.
