Vangelis was developing his electronic sound at pretty much the same time, predates Eno with 'ambient' stuff by around 3 years

But not Electro or even dance music. No Kraftwerk, no Electro.

If we're talking Electronic music in general then there's stuff that predates Vangelis by at least 20 years. Klaus Schulze and other Krautrock artists were making Electronic music at the same time as him, influenced by the originals like Stockhausen.

He doesn't mean 'electro' dance though. Else why mention Eno

We've traced it back to 1955

Planet Rock, Kraftwerk and funk were the main influences on Electro. Planet Rock even samples Kraftwerk.

Some argue Kraftwerk were Electro themselves, but I'd just called them an Electronic Pop group - an influence on all Dance music sub genres but not part of any.

Planet Rock was the first to feature scratching.

Donna Summer - I feel love is deemed to be the first ever techno record.

There's nothing Techno about it, it's Disco. Dance music pretty much follows two paths, the one started by Kraftwerk (Electro, Techno..) and the one started by Disco/Moroder (House, Garage...). I Feel Love is probably the most influential song in terms of the latter and was produced by Moroder.

The first Techno track was No Ufo's by Juan Atkins in 1985.
