What surgery have you had?

Keyhole surgery on me knee. They went in for a closer look when they couldn't get to the bottom of what was wrong with it.

During the follow up with the consultant he said the worst thing they could have done for the arthritis was to put a camera in. Not sure if that was his usual way of telling people they have arthritis, but that's how he told me.

The fella who did mine told me beforehand that one of the consequences was to bring on arthritis of the knee early

Just had my Achilles tendon re attached and now on one leg for 8 weeks. Mainly bedridden atm.
Also had a bi lateral knee replacements done 19 months ago. Wouldn't have gone back for the other so pleased they did them both at the same time.
Haemaroidectomy 2 years ago.
Rotator cuff on my left shoulder... twice 11 years apart.

I'm sure someone here will beat this easily.

Bike accident resulted in compound fractures of the forearm with dislocation of the elbow. Surgery for plates to be inserted.

I do not recommend it.

Seems to be the way with knee injuries. Felt a bit of pain last year in both of mine and they told me I had early stages of arthritis in both. Had to stop playing there and then. Gutting.

Pal of mine complained about a sore throat when we were playing golf on a Friday about three months ago , two tablets washed down with water seemed to sort it , walking back to the car park he complained about his glands feeling sore .

Home and straight to bed , Saturday morning went to the walk in and got some antibiotics.

Sunday felt like shit , so went to A+E , sent upstairs to see a specialist, camera down his throat, immediately blue lighted down to Darlington.

Straight to theatre to put an airway in and drains to relieve the infection in his throat, then things got worse , induced coma for a month to get him stable, all sorts going wrong in between time , gave him two hours to live one night.

When he came around he’d lost four stone , couldn’t stand never mind walk , four weeks of rehabilitation before they let him home.

Been home about three weeks now , took him out for a walk on Friday pm , did about a mile which is quite an achievement for him .

Don’t ever take your health for granted
