What Legends Are Still Living?

Nah, As much as I was a fan he's not that well known outside of boxing circles, he wasn't even that big in them. Decent enough draw but was never near being the face if the sport which is what this requires.

Joe Calzaghe is a boxing legend irrelevant of anything else.
I don’t care about all the rest a legend is a legend.

Not really the question though?

Depends on what you qualifybas a legend in boxing, probably doesn't make the top 100 of all time, is that truly legendary?

Hold on, are you saying Joe wouldn’t make top 100 boxers of all time? Really? I have to disagree there mind.

Me and my best mate have chewed the fat over this...
Musically......
..... Legends...
The Who are nearly gone
Macca the only big draw from the Beatles (just being brutally honest ) Ringo's not going to headline Glasto next year !
Elton John on his farewell tour
AC/DC disbanded
Guns & Roses on / off...on / off...

so stadium filler bands left, i'm saying would sell out in 2 hrs....

Liam even though he is a member of the band that is the draw....

Bob Dylan , Depeche Mode

Stone Roses love em or hate em he can't sing etc etc ,if they announced a stadium tour ....boooom sell out in minutes ....

Red hot chillies, Springsteen,Bon Jovi failed to sell out our stadium.....tickets were reduced or given away to get the punters in.

So i'll be Devils advocate ...15 yrs time who will follow the Who ,Macca, The Stones as Stadium Legend artists ???? I dream of a band stuck in a scout hut or garage rehearsing away that will do it ,from Sunderland ,Scunthorpe,or some other non trendy town...if you go on you tube you can find Oasis rehearsing at the Boardwalk Manchester before they were signed playing " All around the world" which didn't get put down as a track till the 3rd album but the funny thing is they are so innocent and also Noel plays the intro to the Stone Roses Sally Cinnamon and Liams grinning like a cheshire cat....but anyhow i'm off on a tangent.....basically i think once the 60s 70s legends have gone there are none to take over...is it social media? the press? i don't know .

forgot U2 ..

Yeah I don't think it's that hard to name 100 boxers that are ahead of Calzaghe.

He was a good boxer with a poor resume and missed all his big name rivals at their peak.

The Hopkins win is still quality, Kessler is very good win. Eubank is alright but past prime, Jones was shot to shit, Lacy got bodied by everyone after but still class it as a decent win. After that he has a lot of solid b level wins.

He's not really in contention for top 100 though.
