What is your favourite decade for music?

I'd say by 18 you deny you liked anything the 14 year old you liked
I get your point though
The main bands I liked at 14 were Kraftwerk, Beastie Boys and Depeche Mode. Other stuff I really liked included Bob Marley, U2, The Police and China Crisis. I bought shite as well but in the main I still listen happily to stuff my 14 year old self did.

I liked the late 60s
..and the early 70s

… oh and the late seventies

… the early 80s were good … maybe some of the mid and late 80s

Something happened in the 90s.

That’s when I probably started appreciating the 40s and 50s more

I’d have to check my playlist records to see what I mostly listen to but I suspect it would be a smattering of everything but mostly fairly recent.

I’m currently enjoying LoFi stuff. Instrumental and soothing. It calms me.

I didn't care for music until I was in the latter years of secondary school. But music from those years up until I stopped going clubbing could be defined as my 'era', as listening to songs released during those years brings back many happy memories.

So for me, 1994 - 2005.

Loving watching Top of the Pops on BBC4 at the moment. Last night's episode was 27th January 1994. I'm being able to relive my era all over again. Pure nostalgia.

90's for me.
Kind of agree, however as I get older I'm more and more drawn to the 80s.

iplayer has totp from this week in 1994, not a pretty watch... stories of the 90s series is up there too, there's less pulp & oasis than I remember and much more 'Charles & Eddie', 'Robson & Jerome' & 'chaka demus & pliers'. For every live forever, there was a barbie girl or Mr Blobby... just watched the 1997 episode and Christmas was a showdown between the spice girls & the telly tubbies....

I'm finding it a horrific watch personally.
