What (if anything) do you hate about Football in the 2020s?

Offsides, the law was never broken in the first place and they keep fannying about with it because they keep f***ing it up. You're offside then you're offside, no-one can tell me your aren't interfering with play unless you're laid on the floor and injured because defenders have to take you into consideration and organise themselves accordingly.
This admittedly goes back quite a few years more then just the twenties but I can't stand it, just put it back as it was

Constant spitting and nostril blowing visible on TV games

Diving being so accepted that its blatant and no one mentions it

diving where they also slap the ground to emphasise just how 'hurt' they are

Assist stats

The over the top build up to a match that goes on when most matches not involving your club are a bit shit

The catastrophising pundits do talking of a team looking like they might go down ('I really fear for them' etc)

Sky sports news

Dharmesh Sheth

Even knowing who refs are

Keane Vs Vieira being talked up like it's one of the greatest fights in sporting history, when it was actually a man pointing his finger

The death of terrace wit, replaced by vulgarity and songs about sex offenders and the desire to see opponents and rival fans humiliated rather than enjoying their own team winning. Translating over to social media (Twatter more so than any other site).
Going to two games this weekend mind so I don't let it put me off

In the 70's any team (lets take Derby County)could just escape relegation one season ,then the next season win the league ,now its all cut and dried ,same teams at the top ,same at the bottom, moneys spoiled it big time.
And the F.A Cup....In the 70's early 80's everyone in the division had a chance of winning it ,even the next division down ,just look at us .
But now ...meh! a few shock results in the early round and Linikers creaming himself over the "magic of the F.A.Cup" ....but come the final ,the usual suspects are there .....

It’s just boring now, teams spending 80 minutes passing a ball around the defence. Had the FA cup games on the tele last week, didn’t pay any attention to them because they’re so boring.

Money in the game, why spend £100m or £200m to still not have a chance of success, success for most means not getting relegated (which probably falls in line with how boring it is now).

Football really is a business first now though over sport and competition, mainly due to sky and the authorities who just want to milk it dry with games on every day, moved at the drop of a hat so some social media fan boy can watch spurs v Chelsea (yawn) and discuss stats such as possession or Xg (even bigger yawn) as the ball is passed sideways as neither side want to get beat rather than going hell for leather to score more goals than the other team.

Safe to say I can’t be arsed with modern day football! Only games I can watch all the way through without ending up on my phone are Sunderland’s and that’s cos it means something.

Oh, and others to mention, cheating, VAR, sky sports news through the week with the above Xg fans now being presenters (wtf), greed/corruption/politics, Sam matterface, racism, players having an image (I agree on dele alli comments earlier)

Other than that, meh, I still struggle to be enthused these days

There’s a real Americanisation gone on in the sport imo. Trademarked celebrations, 17 kits a season, people from London walking about in PSG kits because Michael Jordan is on them, bellends on Twitter tweeting things like ‘ratio’, fifa utterly distorting young kids views of what makes a good player, an obsession with ‘local lads’, reality tv style punditry where personalities rather than insight rule, but the thing that grates on me the most and absolutely boils my piss is people shouting ‘let’s goooooo’. Just fuck off you freaks.

Don’t forget adults taking their kids to the match with ‘can I have your shirt please’ banners..

Weirdos

Cheating, diving footballers. So many of the frustrations I have with the modern game start from them.
Modern day fans being so reactionary.
One win - gonna win the league!!
One loss - fuckin shite, get rid of the manager, relegation fodder.
I’ve not noticed that. Where would one go to find fans like that?

Diving shirt pulling daft kick off times for tv VAR
mad wages for players. A player cah get 10 times more a week than a heart surgeon gets a year.

overly expensive admission.

time wasting that is blatent and the ref does nothing. Even the coaches do it with subs in the last couple of minutes and even injury time. Should be no subs allowed after 80 minutes.

Cheating players pretending they are injured or diving for a penelty.

Commentators who say' he was entitled to go down because he was touched', it's a fairies game and they are part of it

The fact the game is now owned by the super rich owners and the TV people.

People going on about big clubs - I can't say for sure, but I can't remember it ever said before Sky.

Commentators constantly saying a player is 'unplayable', because in English this means they are unable to be played and therefore could not be on the pitch.

Having to listen to half a dozen rubbish songs in the stadium.

There not being a European super League. I've longed for a decade for the club's that have made the EPL uncompetitive through greed to disappear in to an NFL style conglomerate.

The constant tinkering of the rules.

In what way has the game been improved by alllowing the keeper to pass to a team mate within the penalty box.

Or what if the ball accidentally hits a ref - we now stop the game?

Referees dictating the restart of a game by having an uncontested drop ball. When was the last time we had the two teams centre midfielders contesting one.

Just been mentioned but the signs asking for shirts. Vile.
