What (if anything) do you hate about Football in the 2020s?

I'm not a fan of VAR and I think I know why.

1l) On offsides, its pedantic. Even if they are level to the naked eye it goes down to fingernails being offside. This is exacerbated by a) the frame rate not being good enough and b) the wrong frame often being chosen (you can see the ball is already spinning off the foot meing the pass was played before the frame on occassions).

2) clear and obvious error. They are pedantic on offside but far too liberal on this. Way too often VAR doesn't intervene because they have set the bar for "clear and obvious" far too high.

3) the pedantry off offised and the laissez faire of clear and obvious exacerbates both. They are co-morbid. The anal application of offside make the non-intervention off clear and obvious seem more inconsistent and visa versa.

Sorry mate but nobody can ever say the football Pep's Barca circa 2010/11 has ever been bettered by anyone anywhere.
It's light years ahead of anything ever to come out of this country.
In my opinion the Man Utd side of that era is one of, if not the best we've seen in the PL and Barca absolutely embarrassed them at Wembley in the CL final in 2011, it was like watching a bully pick on a little kid.

I hate the play acting that is endemic in the game today and cowardly managers who set teams up in a negative way to try to not lose a game first rather than going out to win the game first....Southgate is a classic example of that type in my opinion.
technically better yes..but more entertaining?

Everything is tinpot including SAFC and none of it matters. The super rich get richer and buy clubs, trophies and trinkets for something to do. I don't ever want safc to be part of that group but those clubs outside the chosen ones are playing for nothing ergo its all a waste of time😂 Not including SAFC i think i have watched maybe 5 games on tv in two years, boring hyped up nonsense. Time for a beer

Hate this, and just people’s reliance on living through their phone
This used to annoy me too, but as slowly become the norm.

The YouTubers videoing THEMSELVES and talking to their phone throught the game. Put your phone down or I'm going to chuck it on the pitch myself, you self absorbed, narcissistic tw@t.

removing anti radiation suit before entering riverside- games lost its sense of humour
lack of pitch invasions
lack of indirect free kicks
teams lining up as come out tunnel, run on pitch, get on with it.
saudi arabian involvement- how low can you go ?

Sky and everything associated with it. Sycophantic commentators, interviewers, so-called experts who I have never heard of, so-called experts who I have heard of, Jeff Stelling (closet Mag). This also includes any other similar organisations

The constant play acting and time wasting. Made worse by refs allowing them to get on with it and the time added on rarely seems to reflect the time wasted. I don't think it's ever been as bad, perhaps this is a league one thing.

Simple ... Money

Whether it’s the ridiculous wages or transfer fees, players think there royalty and can’t be managed like in the past.

And we are about to see 1st hand whether we like it or not over the next few years, as the scum up the road become something.

Managers complaining there are too many games over xmas( mainly foreign) . Its our leagues don't try and change them, they knew when they took the job when matches get played.

injury time in champions leaguer games. never more than 3 minutes, even if there were 20 goals , 10 sending offs, pitch invasion, injuries etc, would still be max of 3.

technically better yes..but more entertaining?
For me it is mate, I can appreciate the level of skill required to play that kind of game and the fitness and football savvy.
You can only play like that with brilliant world class players.

I could watch clips of that Barca team all day long and not get bored
