Got some Southampton fans staying with us this weekend (in Sunderland) who are going to the match in Newcastle on Saturday. Whats the crack with the metros and bus replacements? If they get on at Seaburn then get off at Brockley Whins where it terminates, will there be a bus waiting for them to get on? Then does it go to every other metro station along the way? And how do they get back (where in Newcastle do they get back on?)
Sorry to ask, just not had any experience of bus replacements!

This, you can get a taxi from Sunderland City centre to Newcastle less than 30 quid

True....but there and back makes it pretty expensive especially when theres only 3 of them (and one is a child)

The replacement bus 901 will between all affected metro stations between Brockley Whins and Gateshead Interchange, frequency will be about 15 minutes. Below is link to timetable and replacement bus stop locations
