What do you listen to your music on?

Seems to be a lot streaming Bluetooth through decent kit. Unless it's the HD variety surely you're degrading the sound quality before you even hear it?

Aptx HD bluetooth can transmit 24 bit. So if you have hi-res audio stored/playing on your device, aptx HD transmitting and on the other end receiving the signal, the quality will be as good as your amps and speakers can deliver - except on graphs that provide readings beyond what we can hear.

My niggle with bluetooth is signal drops and ranges from mildly irritating when listening to talk to annoying when listening to music. If I was looking for hi fi wireless, that's what I'd be wanting assurances on.

Bluetooth is less reliable than your normal wi-fi as it's more susceptible to problems going through walls and similar... I just use my wi-fi and rarely have any problems streaming FLAC files from my Synology NAS anywhere around the house.... that's normally 44.1Khz 16bit... but I also have some 48Mhz 16bit files that also stream without a problem. The only ones I've had problems with are some vinyl derived 96Mhz 24bit files, which it seems just too much for my Sonos or my Cambridge streamer....

The car speakers
A cheap Bluetooth speaker in the kitchen
Some wireless headphones from China
5.1 set up on the telly
Sounds the same as me these days.
I've got some KRK Studio Monitors and an Audio Interface for my PC but haven't unboxed them since I moved house. I I used to be a bit of an audiophile and still have my separates and Tannoy floor standing speakers at my dads house but just can't be bothered with the room they take up.

Happy with basic stuff these days.

Judging by the amount of “whats” I have to use when talking to people these days I think I have some hearing loss, so expensive gear would be a waste of time.

I have a Chromecast Audio which is better than the Bluetooth alternatives (review here on What HiFi). They were discontinued in 2019 so you can only get them second hand via Cex or ebay (about ÂŁ40).

I might look out for one of them to stream stuff to the Bose soundbar in the kitchen. I had an Arcam iblink bluetooth thingy before which was canny.

Ii don't listen to MP3s and play CDs on a JVC sound system.

Albums, cassette and vinyl, I only play in my summerhouse. On a Sony turntable or Decca cassette deck, through an Amstrad amp which has Yamaha speakers connected.

The Amstrad amp is from when Amstrad made decent speakers and hifi separates. Before they went on to specialise in cheap all in one systems. Which to quote their advert meant you didn't have a load of spaghetti hanging out the back. A piece of useless information: John Cleese did the advert. 🎄

I don’t listen to music. I mentioned it to one of the lads at work the other week and he thought I was joking, think I e also mentioned it on a thread on here before.
