Wetherspoons selling off real ales at 99p/pint ahead of lockdown

They weren't in prison FFS.
If their idea of "putting the world to rights" was voting Brexit probably fucked generations for years to come.
How could they be sat in Wetherspoons today, eating fish and chips, and also voting in a referendum from 5 years ago at the same time?

Must be another case of Brexit Tourette's.

How does going into any establishment benefit me.

Spending money in as many local, in the local economy Via independently owned businesses, pubs butchers hairdresser whatever, as possible benefits you fair greater than spending that same money in franchises and giant corporations.

£5 spent in my pub could be spent by the landlord in the butcher's, who then spends it on a haircut, who then pays a local Gardner, who then buys some locally craft beer, who's brewer then spends it back in the pub.... £5 = £25 to the local economy

Before the QPR game, went into a pub in Hammersmith, cheapest pint was £5.85, most were over £6, went round the corner to a Wetherspoon and they had a dozen different beers for £1.99. No contest.

Had some canny Ales on for £1.99 in their Beer Festival. Was in a canny one at Whitley.Bay earlier this week after a walk along the coast and noticed the 99p offers. Not a huge fan of Ruddles so swerved it but had a couple of nice Ales that were new to me. Bonus of using CAMRA 50 voucher anarl. Not that keen on there food but have been known to share a pizza and chips with Mrs H at times.
Some of them are dumps right enough but plenty to choose from. Like the Keswick one and now you can order on the app getting served doesn't take as long as it used to

Does spoons not buy food, or employ gardeners to attend the plants or local builders to sort out problems. I think you will find they put loads into local economies

How many years at Uni.😂

I'm not really sure what this has to do with Wetherspoons or Dignitas, but unless I was a doctor or studying in Scotland, 3 - like everyone else who went - unless of course they did a Masters.
What an odd rebuttal

This is only going off the real people I know versus accounts on here but the people who gan on about the morals around supporting local pubs etc tend to be office workers types who hardly gan out anyway. The working class man who is out regularly is now reaping the benefits of spoons pricing policy and probably loves it.

I support all pubs, I'm not fussy where I drink as long as it's a decent pint, I don't do pub snobbery. Be going to the micro pub & my local tomorrow night.
